My Sister’s Anniversary
Dear Sis
The anniversary of your death is right around the corner. My body will remember it forever. I remember “Dance Moms” being on TV, I was trying to nap when the phone rang.
“She’s passed away”
I ran down the stairs and out the door, hoping maybe the reception on the phone was bad.
I went to see you. I screamed, I cried, I begged for you to come back.
6 years have gone by. I miss your cooking. You doing my hair. Your laughter. The fun we shared. Your advice. Your face.
So many memories, I wish everyday there could be more.
You are younger than me. I always tried to help you and protect you and I couldn’t this time.
The heartbreak literally hurts sometimes. Other times I think I just haven’t heard from you in a while and I snap back to reality.
You always blew on those dandelion seeds. I think now you were making wishes. You had a lot of wishes and goals.

Grief has been an emotion I feel like I just learned about 6 years ago first hand. I was sad when people passed away…but she hit me like a ton of bricks. Every emotion in one bottle. If that makes sense….
I miss the 💩 out of her. She had such a sense of humor. Her laugh was contagious.
We were driving down the road one day and singing at the top of our lungs. Absolutely NOT in tune. That turned into windows rolled down and singing to people walking. And then her laughing hysterically at their reactions.
She could do the BEST braids. Every time she came over, she knew to grab the brush and do my hair and get it over with 😂

Yeah noone is ever prepared for losing someone you love so much😥 it's been 14 years of grieving for me, it never gets easier🙁 but luckily we have 7 cups a place where people understand what your going through 💖 I'm always here for you 💗 hugs you tightly 💖
