Teen Member Rooms Trial *BREAKING NEWS*
**Breaking News** if finding out that @Heather225 is our new Teen community Manager was not exciting enough , brainstorming has been going ahead in group support land! (Anyone attending group support open house on 25th september helped with this so big thankyou!)
From feedback and observations we have become aware of the following issues in Teen Group Support Land :
Teens feeling unsafe due to mods not being able to provide coverage for all rooms
One room having activity , while the others have none and members not getting a response when they say Hi etc.
Or low activity over all the rooms, where it is difficult to have a continual conversation/ get constant support.
One suggestion, to help combat these issues is to trial having less 24/7 rooms on the teen side. From 27th September until 1st October (sorry anyone that attended the open house I know we originally said monday - wednesday however we felt this was not long enough to see the impact of the trail) we will be making Teen Anxiety Support, Teen Depression Support , and Teen Lgbtq pop up (so they will only be open if a Community centered moderator or Global mod opens those rooms) Which will leave only Teen support & Community Room1 open 24/7. Impact of this trial will be discussed at the teen open house in lorraine's lounge on 2nd October @7pm.

Already not likeing the new room thing. It went from to many people to 2 people talking amongst themselves, the other room was being used for game night, so I had nowhere to go. I love the group chat but need more than 1 or 2 rooms. All n all 2 thumbs down. Plus when to many people come page starts loading slow things lag.
@Fireskye13 Maybe they should open rooms when that happens instead of using another room

@Fireskye13 hey there! thanks for your feedback. If you would like to discuss this further you are welcome to attend the open house discussion on wednesdays where we discuss this. I have had the rooms open all day today and we have not had more than 10 people actively patricipating in either room. I understand that an active room is not something the teen side has seen over the last whle so it will take some adjusting. The idea is that we have a space to get support and a space to have fun. Our moderators are in TS 24/7 during this trial so if you ever need support they are there for you to talks to. After this trial ends we a=will welcome any feedback you have, and then ask that we brainstorm other soluntions if the ones the other community members have come up with dont align with your experience
@Lorraine234 when I was on earlier there were like 20 people in ts. However I look forward to trying to attend the meeting.
@Fireskye13 When you look down at the currently participating, that number does not count the people who are actively talking. It just counts people that have entered. Many of them come and just go without saying anything. Still since closing the rooms we have not had more than 10 people actively participating at the same time.
I think it's a good idea but at the same time I'm not sure it is, I know it is hard to cover that many rooms but I don't know if I really like it. The thing is that I know when there are too many people in a room I get ignored a lot more and in some ways it makes me feel worse when I get ignored by more people and I feel more useless whereas when I am in a room with fewer people I feel more important and loved. Also, I feel like when there are more people in a room the conversation can go all over the place and not as many people are there to support others because I know before we used to go in other quite rooms when we wanted a serious conversation and they wanted a more casual one. I also do know some people (including myself) get anxious in rooms with a lot of people in it. I could also see this as being bad with trolls because they can get to a lot of people or it could be better because there are more people, who knows. This is such a hard thing to deal with and try to make people happy. Maybe other people find this better but I know I don't but that's my opinion. Maybe instead of this we could have more mods in the support room, I don't know. I'm interested in what will happen next
@littlePapaya2167 thanks for your feedback! the idea is to have a place you can get support and a place you can have fun. We would love more moderators and if anyone is interested in applying and opening the rooms for some time to discuss things that would be great! As i said above I have had the rooms open the whole day today since we started and there have been a maximum of 10 people talking at one time. This might be different for the teen side but in general this is an avergae participation in a room. This will take some adjusting. I appreciate your open mind while we figure things out!
@Lorraine234 I like the teen rooms and I would be interested in opening some teen pop ups after this trial. So count me in. I think this is a very interesting change and I know a few teen members will really dislike it, but I feel that on the whole it is a good idea.

@MistyMagic You be more than welcome to open the pop up rooms during the trial , in fact I think that would be awesome to find out how it impacts it. (I should of thought of this ha)
I understand one of the goals here is for a mod to be present in the two rooms and all times so the rooms feel safer witch I think is a great idea.
I have joined the community room a few times in the last few days without any mod present in the room.
I understand this is a work in progress , just thought Ill post what I have seen.
