We don't know what happened, but this has been reported and we are investigating.

Okay, found out what happened. It was closed prematurely and was meant to close along with the other group support rooms. However, its usage was incredibly low in comparison to the other rooms at less than 200 messages per week, so it is not eligible for re-open.

why wouldnt this room be available as a popup room if there are mods and room supporters for it ?

We haven't had a dedicated team for this space for some time, and we would like to focus resources on providing emotional support rather than inciting political discussions.

it could be a room to discuss philosophy and life and creative things like peotry and music and other art things politics and certain other controvercial issues could be off limits if a team was formed would it be considered you think ?

Even when we had people on that team, it was not what you are describing. However, I understand what you are saying. I can't bring it back though.

ok i understand if the higher ups ever do think its a good idea to create a chatroom for respectful intellectual discussions just know im interested and will help organize anything needed for it just contact me

yes apparently they want to not encourage creative/logical thinking or questioning for some reason i guess ...
Have you considered that emotional support and politics are linked? Open discussion is critical in the support framework. I feel this space has a more positive impact as an active (unperfect politcal inctiment platform) than a non existent space. I for one miss my friends already. We need some form of social feedback and interacting within a ‘free space allows people to form bonds exclusive from others, (friendships). Not everyone gets along and agrees, but thats ok. I will volunteer to moderate this space for vulgar language and abuse and such. Politcal discourse should never be suppressed imho.
Is it perhaps the expression of particular politcal commentary?

I can tell you it is not due to the specific political views. Thinking Space has always had a precarious existence with the problems it was causing. These issues combined with the low participation led to its permanent closure.
