Feedback: HealthCare Workers & Veteran Support Community
Hello Community,
As you all may know we have been trying to increase the support for two key groups of members of our community -- Health Care Workers and Veteran Support
We started small and created a forum category: Veterans | HealthCare Workers
We are hosting support sessions but we are finding it quiet lately in participation, so I could use your all help and feedback to improve and increase the support and care for wonderful healthcare workers and veterans in the community.
Please take a minute to submit your thoughts, ideas, suggestions, and feedback here- https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSc5n8kR0XNYZ-r8-Kek4aEgcb-tCOMtrsutimLYbGGq1HF6tQ/viewform
Your efforts and support will be much appreciated. If you are interested in helping us in building a community for health care workers and veterans, please do let me know.
Thank you all for being amazing support to each other and community.
@ASilentObserver
Sounds like a lovely opportunity, obs. Looking forward to be a part of this community.

I agree that veterans, first responders and healthcare workers are a distinct group within the Trauma subcom, they might be better supported with a specialized subcommunity. In line with the ongoing subcommunities restructuring.
I have taken 1-to-1 chats with first responders and doctors and they need much support, they are under a lot of stress and pressure, and witness tragic things that might be traumatic.
Also with veterans with PTSD. In the US they have support from VA, but in some cases doesn't fit their needs.
I tried to enter the form and it asked me for permission from the owner.
@HealingTalk Thank you for great thoughts and your support to our veterans and health care workers through 1-1 Chats, Healing. I appreciate it.
Also,. please try the form now and see if it works now or not?
@ASilentObserver
Thank you for your kind words!
The form does work now!

...and about your concern, the chats I took were during a break (that can end abruptly because of an emergency) when overwhelmed more than usual. This can happen at any time. And when their shift ends, they want to go home and relax.
So scheduling a group support chat might be challenging, particularly for first responders and healthcare workers in ICUs or trauma units.
It might be easier with Veterans, maybe through some of their many organizations. They are a well-connected group, so it should be easy to reach them through one of these organizations.
Here, a list: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_veterans'_organizations
Some kind of arrangement might be made between 7 Cups and some of those, like those with universities.

I am a nurse and I am overwhelmed.
@ASilentObserver
I am a widower of a military man. I would love to try to support others in this field.
@ASilentObserver
I didn't know this was a thing, as a member of both I would love to join next time.
Thanks
