The Same Sky (a poem dedicated to my Twin)

A promise made through words

Seen only through a screen

To look out for one another

And help each other stay clean

Words are not needed to describe

The bond that we both share

Our status known as twins

Can't show how much we care

We made a promise for the days

We would be all alone

No connection to each other

No computer and no phone

But despite all of the struggles

Seen beneath the summer nights

We made a pact among each other

To say hello beneath the lights

At 9:30 every night

When the sun has all but set

I'll look up into the sky

And hope that you don't forget

Looking up into the stars

With a twinkle in my eye

As I smile through the window

And we look at the same sky

The same sky with the same colors

All the stars aligned so well

As I whisper little promises

To make both our hearts swell

And when I look up every night

As I smile up so high

I hope that, by some miracle,

We're looking at the same sky
