Hello ModSquad! I hope you are all doing well.
Welcome to May! Thank you for taking care of the chat rooms. I appreciate you for taking part in Mod Challenge Part -I and keeping chat rooms safe, supportive and compassionate for all. I observed how many of you fostered healthy conversations and discussions in these chat rooms. I am grateful to you.
Here I am sharing the total number of messages sent by 87 chatroom moderators in the chat rooms in April 2021. I hope you may find these stats interesting as well as helpful to surpass them in May 2021.

Piece of advice for newbie mod me: Moderation is not only theoretical rules. It's so much more. Put yourself out there and learn. Don't be afraid to ask for back up when needed. Don't give up when things get tough. You'll get through this learning curve! We're here to support you. And of course try not to let mod hate get to you as it is not accurate representation of your abilities. Members sometimes take things out on easy targets, and mods happen to be one of them. ❤️

Thanks for this update. Great work everyone. You are all awesome 
My advise for the younger mod version of me would be to just stay calm whenever hosting. If you are new, you can always let the room know that's the case. My experience is that most people are very understanding and encouraging. It's always good to host with someone who has hosted for a while when you are new, just to learn and have someone to back you up if you don't know how to handle a situation. You can't know everything from the beginning, we all make mistakes and it's not the end of the world. Never be afraid to ask for help if you are feeling uncertain of how to go about something. And if you are feeling bad about a hosting session talk to your mentor or a peer support because we are all here for the same reason. To help.
