Group Mod Meeting Notes - June 10, 2021

Hey everyone! As promised, here’s the summary from our first mod meeting on the adult side for those who couldn’t attend.

What is the role of Group Support Quality Mentor (GSQM)? And what do they do?
GSQMs typically are focused on specific aspects of the group support domain to better support the Group Support Mentor Leaders and the admin as well. For example, my focus is on moderators, while other GSQMs may focus on Room Supporters and host training.

What are some of my responsibilities as a GSQM with focus on mods?
Some of my responsibilities as a GSQM with focus on mods are answering questions about moderations other mods have, sharing resources to newer mods, and answering questions about the application process. I am also involved with hosting these sessions and doing AMA - Moderation to help educate the community on the role of mod.

How do I become a GSQM?
There are a few requirements that you would have to meet before being eligible to apply. The details can be found on the application here: here.

Do you liaise with com mods? Who should I contact if I want com mods to be updated on certain things as an STL?
In general though, liaising with the Community Mods is not a requirement of the mod role. So if you have feedback you'd like mass-distributed to the com mods, it's probably best to send that to Obs directly to share with the team overall.

How often are these mod meetings going to be held? Are the agendas for these sessions going to be posted ahead of time? How do we submit items to be added to the agenda?
At the moment, these mod meetings are held bi-weekly. The agenda will be posted ahead of time if it is completed in advance with enough time for me to do so. I will be working with Obs and GSQMLs to create the agendas so I don’t have much control over the timeline of when it will be finished. You can DM me directly to submit items to be added to the agenda.
