Wellness Accountability Huddle: Monday Kickoff Week 3 (May 11)

Welcome to Week 3. We're at the halfway point!

This week's theme is Mindfulness & Self-Care. We want to focus not just on doing the work, but paying attention to how it feels!

  1. What is the most frustrating part of your current routine right now?
  2. How are you working through it to make sure you stay on track with your goal?
  3. How will you be staying mindful to not lose sight of your goal this week?
  4. Since we all experience stress differently, there is no one-size-fits-all approach to finding balance. Share Your Self-Care Toolkit in this thread and borrow something from someone's this week to try out!

Our 24/7 asynchronous Huddle thrives on our collective presence, ensuring no one pursues wellness alone. Keep on dropping in and sharing your progress. Remember to support your peers and know that you can ask for help! That's what this group is for!

While the Huddle flow is asynchronous to accommodate our global timezone differences, anyone can host live sessions for people to come to.

Please note: I am no longer able to host live checkins myself due to my own time constraints, so I will be relying on you to show up for each other! ♥️ If you're open to volunteering but are new to it and would like guidance, PM me for details!

So, for Mothers Day, I received a Wellness Journal Kit, which was so cool. And, started off the week doing some overdue medical tests (blood, urine, mammogram, vaccines). To reward myself, I bought sweet potato seedlings, also parsley and kale! I was so excited to plant all that when I got home! My ankle is still bothering me a bit so I didn’t go ice skating. It’s been a good day and I hope for a good week!

hmmm! this is a good prompt this week again! Well, I think my biggest struggle is my hyper-focusing. At first, it was my task, but it shifted, as it does, and it becomes hard to do self care or switch tasks. When I'm in a groove, I do not want to transition out of said groove even if It is in both appearances and reality, not really all that good for me in any capacity besides the sheer joy of engaging in my special interests as long as I can. But, the rest starts to crumble and that leads to the not-feeling-so-hot-zone very quickly. Does anyone know of some kind of reminder for PDA, (pathological demand avoidance,) that encourages you to take breaks, (perhaps timed?) Thanks for listenin'. -moth

  1. What is the most frustrating part of your current routine right now?
The back and forth between self-care and work. It's starting to feel like if I'm doing well in one, I'm falling behind on the other.
  2. How are you working through it to make sure you stay on track with your goal?
I am trying different methods to make self-care a routine, ritual, or regular activity. Alerts on my phone worked for a while -- it might be helpful to get them to pop up on my computer too.
  3. How will you be staying mindful to not lose sight of your goal this week?
I'm not sure, but in this moment I am thinking about "tiny actions." Like, what is the tiniest thing I can do right now to make progress on my goals? I can do more if I feel like it, but if not, at least I did something.
  4. Since we all experience stress differently, there is no one-size-fits-all approach to finding balance. Share Your Self-Care Toolkit in this thread and borrow something from someone's this week to try out!
I will share this on the thread as well, but I found the following image on Pinterest yesterday and feel like it could help (if not me, maybe someone else):

@Heather225

  1. What is the most frustrating part of your current routine right now? Not being able to wake up at 6am for my run.
  2. How are you working through it to make sure you stay on track with your goal? I make up for it by doing Zumba in the afternoon instead but sometimes I still miss it because of work.
  3. How will you be staying mindful to not lose sight of your goal this week? I will remember my reason for starting!
  4. Since we all experience stress differently, there is no one-size-fits-all approach to finding balance. Share Your Self-Care Toolkit in this thread and borrow something from someone's this week to try out! I'mma just borrow from someone else this week muahaha
