Wellness Accountability Huddles: Week 4 Monday Kickoff Questions (May 18)

Welcome to Week 4! Our theme is Managing Setbacks. Think through these questions as we kick off the week:

1. Reflect on a recent setback or challenge that you've experienced in your goal-setting process. Notice any emotions or thoughts that arise as you bring this experience to mind.

Next, ask yourself: "What's the opportunity in this setback?" or "How can I turn this setback into a positive learning experience?" Think of some action steps that you can take and share them in the thread to inspire ideas and support one another!

2. What's one thing you can do this week to move the needle on your goal consciously? (ex. a step, an act, a mindset, an affirmation)

Our 24/7 asynchronous Huddle thrives on our collective presence, ensuring no one pursues wellness alone. Keep on dropping in and sharing your progress. Remember to support your peers and know that you can ask for help! That's what this group is for!

While the Huddle flow is asynchronous to accommodate our global timezone differences, anyone can host live sessions for people to come to. If you're open to volunteering but are new to it and would like guidance, PM me for details!

My recent challenge has been my ankle. I did go ahead and take an ice skating lesson, heavily braced. I was glad I did it, but paid the price later. I have to think hard about whether to take the time to heal fully and explore alternatives.

I am about 4 days into training at Starbucks, and my biggest setback has been my energy levels. The first few days, I was just exhausted when I got back -- not physically so much, but mentally. My most recent training session yesterday, I was exhausted while I trained too! It has made content creation and focusing during training really difficult.
  • How can I turn this setback into a positive learning experience?
Honestly, I think the best learning experience from this is how to recognize my energy levels and give grace whenever I need it. When I have the energy to record stuff, I'll do as much as I can. But for a little bit, that might be hard, so I need to find ways to give myself grace.

Maybe I'll start using the Sprinting Method I've talked about before from Ruri Ohama, because I think the Sprinting Method worked when I used it. However, it got cast aside pretty quickly because I had to refocus on finding housing.

we been very angry  due to we really been awful with the goals we set but this partly due to the weather and how it effecting us so badly mostly headaches  that come and go also being dizzy a lot doctors not know why  so eating to much fast food when we get out with home aid

not been able to be very active even not been able to go to church so offline really not much connecting with others

active steps we going to try is making and freezing food so can just reheat it.

finding simple  ways to add more veggies into our diet

we learned that with the weather changing fast and giving us headache we need to be more pro-active  in setting up ways that easy to do so eat better

Stretching has taken a backseat due to ongoing back pain. I am getting a professional massage this week, am using heat on it and trying just gentle stretching.
Job searching is also being effected just due to mental barriers which I am working on.

"What's the opportunity in this setback?"/
"How can I turn this setback into a positive learning experience?"

Instead of multitasking and trying to do everything I think I should be doing I will organise my tasks into smaller tasks that contribute to the bigger goal: for example, my big goal is to get a job in the mental health field. to achieve this goal I have several smaller tasks I can do each day to reach it.
> update my job tracker spreadsheet with companies and jobs I want to apply to
> follow up on jobs I applied for
> complete modules, apply for licences/ checks, or training that can improve my employability
> practise job interview skills

2. What's one thing you can do this week to move the needle on your goal consciously? (ex. a step, an act, a mindset, an affirmation)

Reflecting on how the challenges I have overcome throughout my life, knowing that things will turn out ok and to try to think positively and not compare myself to others.
