A story

Life isn't a fairy tale.
As youngsters we've been told plenty of stories, about girls finding their princes on the moment they least expected it; they lived hapily ever after. Yes sure things like that might happen but not witouth any hardship. This is a story of fiction but a story of realism, put together in a short amount of time and a short amunt of text I hope it's easily understood.

A girl has been in love once before, for years and years she woke up crying over her broken trust. She was an epmath her boyfriend narsesistic.
She did everything for him, it never was enough, he would always tell her that she was a piece of shit, he would leave her but later he'd come back to 'give her another chance' this made things even worse.

Years later she met prince charming, he adored her, he didn't have t bring her flowers or anything to show that. When they first kissed she cried for about an hour not being able to explain her fears of falling back into those old habbits. He just held her and gave her time. He checked up on her and gave her a call when her anxieties got her down. A few weeks went by and everything started to feel so natural for her, she actually started to love him more and more each day. stop.
what if things would work out for the worse when she couldn't let go anymore? If she loved him this much in a matter of weeks how much would she love him in the months and years to come? When he was sick she came over made him soup and made sure to stay with him until he fell asleep. They were watching a movie on the couch, he was laying down holding her hand, his head resting on her lap. 'I love you' he wispered before dozing of to sleep. She woke him up to guide him to his bed in a stage between sleeping and being awake. She wrote him a note saying she did just not feel the same way and never returned.

Don't fix something that's not broken, it's hard to love if you've been hurt in the past but some people might have the best intentions. Yeah sure the chances of love not working out in the end may seem huge but what if it would have? Even if it wouldn't have worked out you have missed out on wonderful memories that could have been made.

Thank you for sharing "The Story" with us @colourfulWatermelon53.I think you haver written this so well. It speaks to any of us who have beenvery hurt in relationships. And the experience with a narcissist is a particularly difficult one as it impacts on your very soul, and naturally isn't easy to recover from, and it takes time.

Then as you say, in a new and positive relationship the old fears can become so big that to walk away seems the better option, but you wonder what may be missed. There is an old saying : "its better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all." We take a risk when we choose to love and be loved, but maybe its a risk worth taking.
