How Important Is Communication?
Peace and light beloved Cupsters ✨️☕️
One of the most rewarding things I've learned on my 7 Cups journey as both a Member and a Listener is something I call "mindful communication". Whether it's communication with peers, community leaders, as a Member with a Listener or vice versa. My favorite quote representing this skill is quoted by author Gemma Troy:
"Remember, your words can plant gardens or burn whole forests down".
I invite you to reflect, answer and share your thoughts on the following questions:
1) What are your thoughts on "mindful communication" in relations to the quote provided? In what ways have seen (or want to see) more of this theory within the Cups community?
2) 24/7, 7 Cups is up and operating for on demand 1-on-1 emotional support, interactive chat rooms and our lovely sub-community forums. In what ways has 7 Cups helped you improve the way you communicate?
3) Do you feel your words in any recent interaction would contribute the planting a garden or burning or forest? Do you feel mindful communication is important?

Hey Siren, this is such a thoughtful discussion topic, thanks for creating the space. I'm glad mindful communication has helped you around here, and goodness that quote hits hard, it is super true though, words indeed have power to make or break, the flowery image is lovely. ❤

It is indeed important to be mindful in our communication, that includes components of active listening too for me, being kind and patient in our interactions, using our words in a way that positively impacts the one reading, and ofcourse practicing non-judgmental communication, this also includes not engaging in passive-aggressive form of conversation. In short, just be kind and considerate lol, think before you say something, your words matter, use them wisely.

Oooh I think since it is all text, it can be hard to sometimes put across our exact feelings, or to recognize completely how someone is feeling/ doing, a lot of texting here haha, has definitely helped me be more expressive in a way that speaks to the one listening to me in a way they understand things better. And ofcourse has helped in improving my active listening skills.

We never know what someone is going through, so being mindful of what we say and how we say is super duper important. The key is to simply be kind, it really is not very hard, if only one is willing to try. I sure hope my words forever make gardens bloom lol, I do know, I try lol.
Be kind, Be respectful, Be considerate, Be non-judgmental, Be compassionate, if all that is tough, just Be more humane, that'll help quite a lot.❤

"Just be more humane" that was a beautiful final thought 🥺🥺 I definitely can relate to mindful communication helping my active listening skills. Without being able to hear tones of the expression we really have to "read" what's being said and even more mindful in our response. The initial delivery has the longest impact

Aww thankyou, and yes exactly. Mindfully communicating includes both listening and talking hehe, so that makes alot of sense, how it improves both these aspects for us, almost simultaneously. ❤
