1, 2, 3 ... ways to walk!
In addition to being an easy and accessible activity, walking has many advantages, including meeting a variety of needs and delivering results. So, whether your goal is to relieve stress, tone your muscles or improve your "cardio", look no further, the walk is for you!
Remove the stress
If you lead a busy life is sometimes stressful, enjoy walking to unwind. Rather than indulge in it for a long time, increase the intensity, you will save time. But be careful not to pace your thoughts with the speed of your step! Instead, focus on your breathing: breathe in and out deeply and slowly and set aside your concerns. And if you walk with a colleague, do not forget the basic rule: do not talk about the job! This activity break will help you to refuel your energy while evacuating stress.
Tone your muscles
If your goal is more to strengthen the muscles of your legs, walk on a sloping ground or climb stairs. When you walk, look at the horizon, not the ground: good posture strengthens the back muscles and abdominals. Walking does not work the other muscles of your body. You could therefore extend your session with other muscle building exercises.
Improve your cardio
Want to be more fit? Your walking should then be done with a quick step and result in a moderate shortness of breath. And if it presents challenges, it will be even more effective:
- Increase the pace of your steps and make longer strides
- Balance your arms more rhythmically
- Take a route that includes climbs (slopes or stairs)
To make an even more paying 30, alternate periods of moderate effort with periods of intense effort. For example, move faster or jog slightly 1 or 2 blocks, then come back at a moderate pace for a distance of 2 blocks.
