5 Mental Benefits of Exercise

@globalBraid3744
I try and exercise around 3 or 4 times a week. Usually it’s in the form of walking but I get so much from it. Also I find that it helps me de-stress from work as well as the usual health benefits.
I’d love to do more but at this time of my life I can’t so do enjoy it when I can just get out there and seize the day!

For me, exercise and meditation are like two sides of the same coin - yet they both benefit me physically and mentally.
Which is why, as I've said in other threads, that I really need to do a better job about prioritizing both - especially exercise. It's so easy for me to get sucked into the path of least resistance (having the thought of meditating/exercise enter into my mind, and then disregarding it), but I need to remember that all it takes for me usually is just getting started. And, as I've heard so many times from many others, getting started is often the hardest part of the equation.

I completely agree with you. I think getting started is indeed the hardest part. When I do not have much time to meditate but make myself do it for 10 minutes then I have the problem to stop haha. I think it is also important to remain consistent to give it time for the benefits to be visible.
What kind of exercise do you prefer?

GREAT Question and Post!

This is awesome you get lots of benefits from your Zumba/Fitness classes. Especially interesting for me is that it helps you to bring you mental focus and clarity. I think I really need this at the moment. I tried Zumba and I love it. I think it is also working for people who are very picky about exercise (like myself).
Hi Braid!
I try to exercise everyday! It's a great way to wake me up in the morning and get me up and going for the day.
For me as a science major in uni, I learned that exercise releases a lot of hormones during the act such as endorphins and various feel good hormones. These hormones give the feeling of satisfaction and the "runner's high" and I think that plays a major role in regulating my mood for the day and boosting my happiness levels.
