Roasted Chickpeas - a healthy addictive snack!

I just wanted to share my new healthy snack addiction. If you are trying to eliminate processed, heavily salted, fatty snack foods from your diet, but still have that craving for something tangy and crunchy to munch on....I have the snack for you!

Roasted chickpeas also known as garbanzo beans are a nutritious and healthy way to satisfy that need for something savory (or sweet) with a nice little crunch to it! This is a good source of fiber, protein, iron, and folate.

All you have to do is take a can of chickpeas (or you can use fresh or dried but you have to soak them first, etc.), but I use the low-sodium canned type. I strain them to remove all the liquid and then pat them dry as much as possible with a towel.

Then, I put them in a bowl and add whatever your favorite spices are and toss them in it to cover them. You can use sweet or savory spices depending on your mood :)

Next, I put them on a baking sheet and bake at a temperature of 450 degrees (F) or 230 degrees (C) for about 25 minutes or until they are a golden color and crispy on the outside.

Then you just remove from the oven and enjoy!

-What are some are you favorite healthy snacks?

-Do you have a favorite way to add healthy nutrients into your diet?

I appreciate all the suggestions I can get 😋

Thank you so much for this wonderful post! I simply love chickpeas and I will definitely try them roasted.

The healthy snack that I am addicted to are dates! I just love their sweet taste and it is a healthy alternative to sweets. They are very nutritious, contain lots of fiber, high in disease-fighting antioxidants, and may even boost brain activity!
