What Less-Healthy Food Items Do You Want to Reduce Eating?
Establishing a balanced eating plan, including a variety of healthy foods, is important. It is also a good option to include "treat" items on an occasional basis, as part of a balanced eating plan.
There are some of us, however, that perhaps eat an excessive amount of a less-healthy food item, regularly. For example, some people may want to reduce their sugar intake/intake of desserts, some others may want to decrease their fat intake (fried foods, etc.). Other people may want to reduce their caffeine intake.
What "less-healthy" food item(s) do you want to decrease your intake of, in your eating plan?
I think I do a good job at keeping things balanced when it comes to my meals...... Not sure there is anyone thing I'd eliminate. I try to get in all the good stuff, and when I do have anything else I consider it a "Treat Day".... Everything in "moderation".
But I guess if there was one thing that I can't seem to get enough of during my meals its "Cheese"... I love cheese, and do my best to proportion it throughout the day, only using it once in the morning at Breaksfast and again at Lunch on my Wrap...
@PoliteOcean
This sounds like a good goal for food moderation!
I would really like to reduce how much chocolate I eat. It's so sugary and good!
@AlluraRae
This sounds like a great goal for food moderation!
I'd like to decrease ALL fast food. It is so bad for me.
@AlluraRae
This sounds like a positive goal for food moderation!
sweets as a source of energy at work.
@Alia2
Reducing sweets and sugary items is a good healthy modification for anyone to make in their healthy eating plan! Good luck!
@StrengthFromWithin
thank you
@Alia2
No problem.
Avoiding excessively salted foods. Sometimes the salted foods look healthy on the surface - virtually the only unhealthy ingredient being salt.
@kairemets
This sounds like a great food item to have in moderation. Excessive levels of salt in anyone
I want to reduce the amount of processed & refined foods and eat more and more fresh, whole foods.
Definitely a work in progress.
@BridgetAileen
Reducing the amount of processed foods which you eat, and incorporating more fresh, whole foods into your diet sounds like a very healthful modification to make! Good luck with this
@StrengthFromWithin, thanks so much. I began back at the end of August and still consider myself as transitioning since I'm certainly not perfect. I still have some work to do, but I've been making progress. And I'm feeling so much better already. I had my blood tested (a regular thing for my diabetes, thyroid, etc) just before I started (didn't even know when I had my blood drawn that I was going to start...that's how sudden the decision was...LOL), and I just had it drawn again on Thursday. So I'll get those results soon and see if there's been any improvement.
