DIETS

We have a problem, well more than one..

It started of with telling every girl in the world that they had to be a size 0, now the online comunity (see instagram, facebook ect) basically seems to be promoting obesity by calling it being body positive. Yes you should be happy in your body but your health is the most important, it's okay to have a snack every once in a while but you can't live on fast food and call it body positivity.

We have to eat low calorie? O please, in my life I have run into so many girls obsessing over calories "I can't eat more than this many calories" "That salled looks delicious but it has 600 calories in it" calories don't have anything to do with a product being healthy or not. I get so many calories in from just fruist and vegtables! It doesn't matter if something is calorie dense there are so many more things to keep an eye on! Try to keep track of your daily intake how much salt, fat, sugar ect are you putting into your body and where did they come from?

Shitting on eachothers diet, luckely I haven't seen this happen here, but I don't eat meat and it's fine with me if you do. I personal;y just believe that the bio industry is bad for our planet and our health but we have to be able to decide for ourseleves and I totally understand if you won't be able to give up meat I didn't really like it in the first place :D Anyway, there are so many extremes on both spectrems both telling eachother that they are going to die. Everyone has their own life you can share your views but only if you're open to listening to the views of someone else and don't force someone to follow your believes

I'm going to post this reply here as well..... Even though I posted it in your "Food Alternatives" section too.....I had stated the following:

Some people also need to be careful with their "Carbs and Fats" as well as sodium.. (Diabetic sufferers, as well as Heart patients etc...) Especially in America.... As well, not everyone's body can tolerate certain kinds of carbs, fats and such. As well as there are also those who have "calorie-restricted" diets.Even too much fruits and vegetable isn't always a good thing. Everything should be in moderation. Regardless of what one is eating.....or decides to eat... (I'm a nurse) so....these are some of my intake on it.

And yes, I feel a more "natural" diet is obviously our best and healthiest choice. Doesn't mean we can always stick to that, but the more a person can, the better for them, and we should take care of our bodies to the best of our abilities.

I am trying so hard to eat well and get fit. But no matter what you research someone is trying to tell me something else. It feels like I'm trying to do something different each week. Everyone says to figure out what is best for my body/life, but they all have comflicting tips/beliefs/perspectives/etc. It makes me tired and sad. I don't feel healthy. It makes me want to give up.

MelanieRose...sorry to hear that you are having a difficult time and feel as though you are receiving conflicting information..... I'm not sure where you are located currently, but one thing you could perhaps try is to sit down with a "Registered Dietician or Nutritionist" so that they can help you, work with you and show you what might be best for you and what exactly you need to do for your body and health......

Someone here in the Subcommunity is currently seeing one now, and has lost 7lbs in the past month..... Its really about just feeding your body "healthy" foods (fruits/ veggies, proteins etc...), limiting what is not so healthy (such as junk foods, chips, candy bars, sugars, sodas, fried foods), and adding 'Activity" to your routine. Notice I didn't say "workout, or exercise"... But if you are able, you should perform some type of activity daily that will work your body... Whether its walking....riding a bicycle , swimming, dancing, Kite Flying...etc...etc... find something that you like and it will never seem like a workout. Good luck!
