🚭 **Raise Your Awareness: Smoking and Your Well-being** 🚭
Hey everyone,
In the spirit of promoting overall wellness and healthy living, let's take a moment to shed light on an important topic - smoking and its impact on our well-being. August is National Wellness Month, and what better time to discuss how smoking affects our physical, mental, and emotional health?
Did you know that smoking remains a leading cause of preventable deaths worldwide? Here are some eye-opening statistics to consider:
- Smoking is responsible for about **480,000 deaths** each year in the United States alone.
- On a global scale, smoking-related illnesses claim over **8 million lives annually**.
- Not only does smoking increase the risk of lung cancer, but it's also linked to heart disease, stroke, and various respiratory issues.
- Secondhand smoke exposure can be equally harmful, affecting those around us, especially children and non-smoking family members.
We all know that quitting smoking is a challenging journey, but the benefits are truly worth it. From improved lung function to reduced risk of heart disease, quitting smoking enhances your quality of life. Moreover, your mental health can also benefit as nicotine addiction can exacerbate anxiety and stress.
So, if you're a smoker or know someone who is, consider taking steps toward a smoke-free life. Reach out for support, explore smoking cessation programs, and remember that every small effort counts.
Let's use this community to encourage and empower one another to make healthier choices. Share your thoughts, experiences, and advice on quitting smoking or supporting someone in their journey. Together, we can create a space that promotes wellness in all aspects of life. Your well-being matters!

2) What was the motivation?..... To get back on track with my healthy lifestyle and accomplish my personal goals.
3) What was the first step?.....To just say to and tell myself that I was going to do it. And reminding myself of the reasons why.
4) What was the strategy?..... To dive back into some habits I had created & set for myself in the past. And remind myself of the reasons why I have to & need to do what I'm doing.
