I don't want to sleep, but I don't want to wake up either

I know I can't be the only one that has the problem, but my head tries to tell me I am. I don't like going to bed at night because that's when the really bad thoughts come out, but when I wake up in the morning, all I want to do is go back to sleep to avoid my life.

I've tried so many ways to control, stop, and alter the thoughts that haunt me at night, but it never works. I'm a weak person. So I force myself to stay awake well into each morning until I am too tired to think at all. It's not healthy and I want it to change, but I can't. I can't.

I get like this too but unfortunately the only thing I've found that helps without resorting to medication is rather than focus on the bad stuff I imagine something that would be great and just focus on that train of thought until I fall asleep. Sometimes it takes about an hour and sometimes it takes hours. I don't know if it would work for you everyone is different. smiley

I have tried that apprrach. It would work well if I didn't give in to my thoughts so easily. I am an extremely sensitive and emotional person, so I can't hold long under the bad thoughts. The best I've done is to ride them through, but you can only live so long and poor sleep.

This happens to me, too. In fact, that's how my past few nights have been. I find that reading seems to help. I can lose myself in fantasy and that keeps my brain busy until I just fall asleep. I know that probably sound like an over simplified solution, but I'm not trying to say it's a simple problem. Maybe try some yoga to relax your mind and body before bed time. Anyway, whatever it is, I hope you get some rest soon.

Reading is usually the only thing that works for me as well. Live in the fantasy until you fall asleep :)
