WEEKLY CHECK-IN APRIL 1st!~
HEY EVERYONE!
April is HERE!... Spring time (for alot) , more sunshine....being able to get back outdoors again.
How has everyone been doing this past week?! What have been your ups/downs? How have you been feeling? What have been your accomplishments (no matter how small, they all add up!)...We want to hear from YOU!
Been doing ok this past week... trying to hang in with everything. Some days are more challenging than others. But its been really nice and warm this week, was able to get outside alot more and get better workouts in. Stayed on track with eating...I think I did "ok" with my water, but still need to get better. With it getting warmer again, perhaps that will happen soon. Sleep has been better, but still not quite where I want for it to be according to my Fitbit progress.....So need to work on that more as well. Today is REST DAY.... so thats always a good feeling to be able to just take a break from everything. Because lets face it, Healthy Living is all about Mental, Emotional, and Physical well-being. And on Saturdays, I just tend to "check-out" and try not to focus too hard on anything. Its a way to rest, relax and just "Be Me" without anything extra. Was going to go to the Beach today, which would have been so lovely.... but..... decided against it at the last minute until it gets a little warmer. So maybe a nice drive or some shopping or just resting... Hope everyone has been hanging in this week and doing well.
@PoliteOcean
Every day is a challenge for sure! I'm glad to hear you have been able to get outside and enjoy the warmer weather...that makes such a huge difference! Don't be too hard on yourself about the water...the water that is in the food you eat counts, too! I hope you enjoy your rest day today and do something fun! Keep that positive momentum going...hugs!!!
@AlfalfaSproutDeux
Awww...thank you Alfalfa! Thats so sweet of you. .... I guess I also didn't think about the "water" that I get in my "foods" as well...Hmmm... learn something new all the time! lol. Thanks for that information :)
I hope that you have had a good week. And thank you for your support here in the community. So glad to have you apart of it. :) HUGS back!
@PoliteOcean Still having a hard time getting out there to workout. I started my period which doesn't really help :/
@Mellietronx
Sorry to hear that Mellie... I know we all have our own "challenges" to overcome. Whether its phyiscal, mental or emotional. Sometimes its good to listen to our bodies, and sometimes depending on the situation, its also good to try to work through it and push through it and past it.... But its up to us to figure that out and what works best.And sometimes thats not always an easy thing either...But Hang in there... and keep trying. Thats all we can do.
@PoliteOcean Thank you :)
I did manage to get some yoga today :)
Feeling both good and bad, to be honest. Some high points are that I'm definitely becoming a lot more conscious about the type of food I eat, and how much I'm eating. Which is good becuase I used to not do that very much. Also I've been trying to do these home exercise routines. I haven't been able to do them every day because I forget or lose track of time, but I do some sets at least every other day or every two days. I haven't been doing them for long, but they're pretty helpful and I usually feel better after I do them. I also found out that I will be able to get a 60 percent discount off my gym membership every month so that's nice. ^^
The only thing that's causing me some issues is getting to sleep. All week I've been having some insomnia where I haven't been able to sleep until 3 am or so. I think it did start out as anxiety induced, but I think my body is trying to settle into this new sleep pattern, so I'm trying to combat it. Becuase I just really don't like waking up in the late mornings, like at 10 or 11 because I really enjoy the early morning atmosphere, ya know? xD
Anyway, I think I've rambled on enough haha
@mimameid
Hey Mima! So glad to see you post in here this week! Great post. Thank you for sharing.....
I am so proud of you as you seem to be doing a pretty great job. Its great you've been getting in BOTH healthier eating AND exercises. And I'm glad that you seem to be doing good with them and enjoying them both... And you're right, that we do feel much better once its done and out the way (even when we don't want to or feel like doing anything)~
And 60% OFF a gym membership!!?? Thats AWESOME!
Very awesome. I hope that you totally take advantage of that....
Also, your sleep pattern sounds alot like mine lately. Mine was anxiety induced as well ,and It was getting to be very late that I was getting a chance to lay down as well. Just like you, 3am
. So I know how that is, and what that feels like. I am trying to focus on laying it down a little earlier before any anxiety has a chance to kick-in. It can be helpful at times. But yes, it can also start to become a "pattern" as well when its been going on for so long. Your body starts to get used to laying down at that time, and then getting up later. I pray for both of us to get better rest for BOTH our bodies and our minds :) Hang in there!
Struggling to get myself back on track after my dad's death on 3/16. I was already not eating or exercising very well. This week at work there will be treats or unhealthy lunches provided every day for a special treat week. This is going to be hard. I did make an appointment for April 10 to see an orthopedist about my chronic shoulder problem. If I can get that healed up, I can do a lot more exercise. I'm very limited right now, especially anything upper body. Yesterday I did take a 3 mile hike with my sons.
@SadMe70
Hey Sad! So glad to see you back. I do remember seeing the post about the passing of your father. And I truly send my condolences to you. I know it can be really challenging to get back on track after a loss like that. Not just physically, but also mentally and emotionally as well. And of course that all goes together.......
I also know how challenging it can be to be at work and have to try to resist temptations!... Where I used to work, (in a school system) the home-economic room was always making treats, and baking stuff... as well, everytime we had a meeting they were constantly serving us stuff and having different days catered by different eateries.... What I normally would do, was stay away from it. To be honest, I wouldn't walk near any place that they had the food set up, I would go out of my way to walk around those places and keep myself busy. I sometimes would even pack myself a little healthy treat, so that I would feel like I was also getting something as well as staying on track. So just "plan ahead"... I know that is something you have been great at doing!
I do hope that you also get on track with your shoulder. I also can relate to having those "set-backs" that get us off course. I am dealing with it also myself, and have been working the past 9months to get back on track over the track I got off of the previous year before after working so hard. Just hang in there. I know you can do it! ![]()
And a hike sounds lovely..... Its always great to have time with our family (especially our children, even when they are grown!) lol....Just hang in there Sad. I know its difficult and challenging. Nobody said it was easy, but I know that we know in the end its worth it!... Hang in there , you've got this! ![]()

@PoliteOcean Thank you for all your kind words. Today has been really hard, missing dad. I do better at work when I'm distracted. I work in a school system too, and the principal is constantly leaving junk right out by the staff mailboxes that I go by several times a day. She is the one providing all the "treats" this week too :(
Hi, I haven't been on 7 cups recently. I guess when I broke my streak I kinda just stopped... Anyway, I thought this week was good, until I realized it wasn't and I'm just ignoring all the bad stuff and then it all comes back to bite me on Sundays! My best friend is leaving for 6 weeks but it's basically forever because when she gets back we have 1 day of school and graduation and then high school's over and we won't see each other often at all. She also told me that other people I thought were my friends were being pretty rude to her, so now I don't know how I feel about that, and I have to face them all at school tomorrow, without her. I'm also really freaking out about going to college. Making a decision is really stressing me out, and my mom is stressing me out too. Also I started binge watching a new tv show that I thought would help me but it's super triggering and now I feel awful and crazy. I feel like I'm back tracking in progress I made with taking care of myself and now it's just awful again. It's 2:13 am and I have to wake up at 5:30.
Physically I was sick most of the week with a really bad cold. I think it's finally better now. I've been taking it easy.
Sorry if this doesn't make sense.
@lovingBanana5204
Well, welcome back Banana....Coming here to "vent" is a good first step. Sorry to hear that you are feeling stressed out so much lately. Sounds like maybe you might need to just take a step back and focus your energy and awareness on "One" thing at a time. Prioritize what it is that is stressing you out the Most. Perhaps starting with making a decision about College first. (Since you can't change the fact that you will be graduating)... Graduating is a good thing. It means you applied yourself and are moving forward with your life. Even though it can feel a little scary. But it also means you are about to embark on a NEW journey. Perhaps new friendships and relationships with others. Also, ...if your mom is stressing you out, ask yourself "Why" is she stressing you out so much. If possible... perhaps sitting down with her and having a "Heart-to-Heart" talk with her about what is bothering the both of you can ease the feelings of stress between you both........Then perhaps focus on what it is that you started watching that has started to "Trigger" you. You can decide if you need to "face" those triggers, OR... just remove them all together by not watching whatever it is that triggered you in the first place..... And as far as "Friendships" that you have now, even though some aspects of them might change once you graduate, the bottom line is, if the friendship was meant to be, then it will be! You both just have to do whatever it takes to make sure that the friendship remains intact. Whether texting, phonecalls... facetime/skype etc.....Yes, it won't be exactly the same, but it can be a comfort to know at least the the friendship is still there and that you havent lost it all together just because you are graduating......
Hang in there... It will come together.
I had a pretty good week last week. I did vigorous cardio on most of the days, and am improving my cardiovascular fitness level. I also did two sessions of strength training. I would like to keep up with the strength training 2 days a week.
Things have been going quite well for me. I had a very rough period of time a couple weeks ago, but things are definitely looking up for me now. :)
i was 76 kilos and with eating right and excersising i went down to 71. my goal is 68. the last 2 months i lost it.. i gained 3 kilos
