**ANY & ALL NEWBIES!! YOU ARE WELCOME TO SHARE!!
**This past week was another decent week.... Anxiety levels low, kept up with all my workouts (teaching Zumba, walks, group classes & swimming), eating, AND water!!... Sleep wasn't too bad this week. Still not where I want it to be, but will continue to work on that and get better.... My goals are still to continue with all of this and keep it "in check" and to just continue to stay "active"..(and increase my sleep hours).
**Stress levels had me a little on edge at the beginning of the week anticipating teaching my "First" POUND Fitness class...Just trying to remember all the routines, music etc... and wanting to give my participants an awesome class.... I felt like I was going to forget something etc.. but I made it through! And they seemed to enjoy. Now, prayerfully the class will continue to be a success moving forward. Its not about me teaching it, but its always about the "Participants/ the Clients".... THEY are what makes any class. If you don't have them, then you don't have a class, NO MATTER How great an instructor is~
**Today plans are just to relax and "chill" , attend the local POUND event they have bi-monthly nearby, and I guess whatever the hubby wants to do since its "HIS" weekend (Father's Day). Happy Fathers Day to anyone celebrating (Your own, your husband or otherwise)~
HOPE EVERYONE ELSE'S WEEK HAS GONE WELL~ ![]()
@PoliteOcean
Heya! Woah, you do a lot of exercise! Glad that youve kept up with it all- thats so impressive! Woohoo for water intake! Sleep is always hard in my opinion haha what are your plans to work on it? A routine bed time or night routine??
WOOHOO, you taught your first POUND class!!! 🎉🎉🎉 thats so exciting, and even better that it went well! The stress is usually never as bad as we think itll be, but we only see it in retrospect :/ Im glad you went through with it though! And very, very true words. Gotta engage the participants, because theyre what makes or breaks a class...
ooh, what does the POUND event involve?
Ooh, happy Fathers Day to everyone whos celebrating! (US and UK??) Dont think its Australia yet lol
Have a good week! xx
@rebecca947
Hey there Rebecca!..
Yeah, I do seem to get alot of exerise... Mostly I just do a walk in the morning (or teach a class depending on the day) and then try to do something later again in the evening.... The main thing is that i try to stay as "active" as I can and not be sitting for too long... So between teaching classes, I just try to "Mix" things up by taking walks, taking "others" classes, OR... going swimming while I can until the Fall comes again! lol.... Its important to mix things up with things you like.....
The place where I am now teaching Pound (is a Ladies only workout studio)... and the New owner has added soooo many new classes, like "Step Aerobics", and (my new class) as well as some other things..... I don't like "traditional" gyms ( a little too crowded for what I like) but, I do like Group Fitness classes where there are other like-minded people on the same journey trying to get healthy. So... This place is a place for me right now to do that. And it being for women only is even nicer since we are all in the same journey together.
My first POUND class went really well.... Prayerfully it will continue on like that each week!
And the POUND "Event" in my neighborhood, is an event that another instructor does "BI-Monthly".... Its a place where i took my VERY FIRST Pound class, and is the reason why I'm an instructor now myself. But its a HUGE Warehouse, where they serve "Adult Drinks" and foods.... and they hold this POUND event twice a month where everyone can come, do a Pound class and get a free Adult beverage and food afterwards. It really seems to draw in HUGE Crowd and people really love it. They get to meet others, chat, make friends etc...etc... So it was a really clever idea for the instructor and the owner of the warehouse to collaborate on as well to make a profit from it.
Keeping up with exercise and healthy eating. June is half over. I wish June was longer time goes very quickly. Making the best of nice weather with plenty of fresh air and swimming more often as weather is better. Flowers are in full bloom, which makes for a relaxing time sitting on the patio under a nice shade tree. Enjoy your weekend.
@sail46
Another great check-in for you Sail! Thats awesome...
And I'm with you... It seems the summer months come and go so quickly... and the winter season seems to last for so long.... and I'm in the South (where it should be warm and sunny most of the time). And it still feels that way.
I too really wish June lasted longer, I feel like by the time JULY 4th gets here, you blink your eyes then its Labor Day and Fall again?!! lol.. Just not fair that it doesn't last longer.
I'm glad that you are enjoying it as much as you can, and taking in the flowers, the fresh air and all the wonderful things that come along with the current season. It really is a wonderful Mood Booster! Thanks so much for checking in each week! Also great to see you! Have a great weekend!
@PoliteOcean
Heya! Busy week this week, wasnt going to check-in but I have some free time currently haha
Busy cramming for exams (I didnt attend 75% of one units lectures) sooooooo Im cramming BIG TIME for that... and exam is on Tuesday, and I have 2 exams that day. Havent even touched the other unit, I gotta hurry and get on that ASAP.
And World Cup omfg just watched Australia vs France, Im so sad we lost 😭 but we played well. Was surprised we didnt get smashed against France, the team who is the most expensive of every team in the World Cup competition 😂 I want to watch the Argentina vs Iceland team, but well see. Its already started lol
Planning to get back into exercising maybe after exams, during my one month break. Someone please keep me accountable cos we all know I wont be able to 🤣🤣 not even my timetable can do that LOL
Getting back into bullet journalling and habit tracking, but hasnt worked too well right now! Trying to increase my water intake... maybe for my July spread, Ill try to track exercise...
OK, Im tired! See ya :) I hope everyone has a good week! ❤️
@rebecca947
Hey Rebecca! So glad you were able to find the time to check in this week! lol.. You sound incredibly busy!!.... I can understand how "cramming" for exams can be time consuming, nerve-wracking and exhausting to say the least!.... Its a good thing you stil have a few days! I hope that you get all the studying in that you need to and do well on your exams. Good luck on those!
Its really great that you are also going to make a plan to get back to exercising after your exams! I will do my best to keep you accountable! lol...I will be your "drill-sargent" and make you check in and post every day!!! lolol

Its really good that you are getting back into your bullet journaling and habit tracking! Thats awesome! Even though you dont' think its working too well for you right now, keep at it. You never know! You might just surprise yourself!..... And increasing your water is a great plan! (It should keep you nicely hydrated and alert for those exams as well!! lol..
)..... Also Making a plan to track your exercise is an awesome idea!.... Perhaps you could try "scheduling" rather than tracking? Meaning make it an "appointment" with yourself?! That you have to be there, show up, do the workout! If you pre-track it, and make it a plan, maybe that could keep you on track, and then track about it again afterwards! How it went, how it made you feel, how long you did it for, what challenged you..etc..etc...!
I'm really proud of you for at least trying to prepare to make it a plan for yourself to get on track with your healthy lifestyle! Keep up the great work (even if its only a plan for now, once those exams are over, put the plan into effect!) You can do it!!
Thanks so much for checking in this week! Good luck on your tests, and keep up the great work! Let me know how things go for you!
@PoliteOcean
oops, I realised I never replied! Sorry about that! Thanks for the words of encouragement and suggestions- I shall try the make an appointment with yourself technique! Maybe set an alarm or something... and yes, drill- Sargent sounds intimidating but maybe thats what Im needing 🤣
thank you! :) xx
Uneventful week so far. I have eaten ok, exercised ok. Tonight we are having dinner with one son and his wife, for Father's Day. Things are tense between us and her so not really looking forward to that. Tomorrow we are having dinner with the other son. I did have a nice long hike yesterday. It was longer than what I would usually do but I wanted to get to an area of the park that I've never walked to before. There is a pretty pond down there so it was worth the sore feet!
@SadMe70
Hey there Sad! So glad to see you! Glad to hear that things were "un-eventful"! That "to me" anyway, sounds like a good thing! lol... Sounds like you stayed on track a bit with eating and getting in some exercising, so thats great as well! Good job!
I'm sorry to hear that things have been tense between you and your sons wife..... I won't ask you in detail here what is going on, but please If you'd like, feel free to message me anytime if you'd like to talk about that. I've been there with my own son, so I'd be glad to listen.
But, in the grand scheme of things, it sounds really nice that you are getting to see "BOTH" of your sons this week! I take every little moment I can get with mine since he's always working. I never get to see him or have dinner with him anymore since he moved out. Its certainly been awhile. So I hope that you are able to enjoy each dinner with your sons in every way possible.
And how nice for you that you were able to get your HIKE in!!... I know how much you enjoy doing that..... and how lovely that you made it to your destination. Sounds like it was well worth it! I'm sure it was lovely. Did you take any photos?!.. If so, maybe you'd like to share?!... I love any time I get to spend near the water. And I'm sure you earned alot of steps and burned calories to go along with it!! Keep up the great work!
Thanks so much for checking in this week, always a pleasure to see you post and hear from you! I hope you enjoy your weekend and the week ahead! Take care Sad!
@PoliteOcean
Here are a couple of pictures of the pond that I hiked to the other day. The park also borders a river, shown in the last picture.

@SadMe70
oh how lovely.... the last one almost looks like a little man-made "beach"?... I would probably be there everyday! Very nice photos! Thanks so much for sharing!
@PoliteOcean The last one is on the shore of a river. It's just a little narrow bit of sand bordered mostly by woods. I took another hike today!
I'm trying to help my mom with a low carb diet, but I feel I don't have energy.
@Rebekahwriter13
Thats great Rebekah that you are trying to help your mom with her goals.... Sometimes trying to help others reach their goals can be challenging. Be sure to also take time for "yourself" as well to reflect on any possible goals that you may have too. And take time for Self care if you feel that things are becoming or continuing to stay challenging for you with your mom. Also remember, that "you" alone cannot be the one to help her reach her goals. She has to want to do it for herself as well and also be the one to make the changes that she may need to get to where she wants to be.
Good luck to you both, and thanks so much for checking in this week.
I
@666jacobjackson666
Its great that you are trying to do something good for you health!... I'm sorry to hear that you feel your efforts are not paying off for you... Without fully know what it is that you are doing, its kind of difficult to help you a little further. I would be glad to to help you figure it out a little if you'd like to share your eating plan and workout plan here??
I'm not sure how long ago you started and how long you have been on your journey?...... But it can take some time. There will be challenges along the way as well. The thing is start small... making too many changes at once will make you feel "over-whelmed". Also, perhaps "swapping" out certain carbs for better ones? (Brown and whole grains over whites ones as in breads and pastas), swap out sweets for fruits when you can, add more veggies when and where you can..... Allow yourself a treat once a week or once a month so that you don't feel deprived....
Also as far as workouts, doing something that you don't enjoy will only make you NOT want to do it.....Find activities that you like to do and it will never seem like a workout. Do you like to dance? Then perhaps try a Zumba Class... Do you need 'motivation', perhaps find a friend or family member who are like-minded who can workout with you... or find and try a "Group Fitness" class, where you will be surrounded by others who are trying to live the same journey.... All these things can be very helpful when making changes and trying to live a healthier lifestyle.
Thank you so much for checking in, continue to keep up the great work that you are already doing. We are here to support you in anyway that we can and are able to! Please check back and continue to let us know how you are doing.
