**and ANY and ALL NEWBIES!
This has been a pretty good week. I ate well, and I didn't go away this weekend so no crazy eating. I did have my weekend wine, so I have not been sleeping well the last few days, but it's my fourth week with no wine during the week. I missed my weekly hike but did my other exercise. I had my monthly physical therapy session, to try and keep my various chronic problems in check. I am pretty tired of being in pain all the time. I have been focusing on doing PT exercises to try and keep my pelvis in rotation, to keep my knee and lower back problems under control. That means I have been neglecting my neck and jaw which have been very painful lately. My therapist worked on my neck and got some relief. I really am so tired of chronic pain all over my body. But, mentallly I have otherwise been doing pretty well.
@SadMe70
Hey Sad! So glad to hear from you this week!.. I'm glad to hear that your week went well for you! And that you also were able to stay on track with your eating.. And "weekend wine" is fine. We all need to have those "treat" days right?! While I know that you do have trouble sleeping sometimes afterwards, Consider that your time to relax and treat yourself. We all deserve to have that!.
While you missed out on your hike, its great that you were still able to get in some activity.....I think I told you that my mom is going through similar issues with her lower back so has some chronic pain as well for past 40+ years. Sounds like you are doing very similar things that she is doing by Going to PT as well as trying to keep her pelvis in rotation as well... She continues to keep up with her exercises everyday that they give her to do. I know its not an easy issue to manage or deal with watching her. So I surely sympathize with what you are having to deal with and go through (mentally and physically)... Although its awesome to hear that you are doing very well "Mentally"... Sometime even when we are doing not so great in other areas, just having that 'Mental" portion "in-check" can help immensely! I pray for you (and my mom) to eventually get to where you need to be or at least to a point where it is more tolerable and managable for you both.
I appreaciate you taking the time to check in this week.... Its always so great to hear from you and how you are doing. Relax when you can, take care of yourself, and enjoy that weekend wine!
@PoliteOcean Thank you! This weekly check-in and your supportive responses are part of the reason my mental health is good right now!
@SadMe70
Aww... that is so sweet Sad! Thank you so much for your kind words. Little do you all know that you all help keep me going to! I love seeing all of your responses, and how you all are doing this week. When are weeks are "up" its encouraging, and when they are "not up" its great to be able to not only "get" support but also "give" support as well, and to know that we are Not in this journey alone (Whether its physical , mental, emotional etc..)... You are all my Healthy Living Family! Your journey is apart of my journey as well
I've missed the past couple of check ins, and this past week has been really difficult. Anxiety and panic and stress have been at the forefront for me. I've managed to make a few good meals and keep eating. Sleep has been hit or miss with both of us and I haven't been able to get more than about 3-4 hours at a time. I constantly feel overwhelmed and out of control so that I just can't focus and flit around like a butterfly without getting much done. In addition I just found out today that one of my biggest pet sitting clients that I do 5-6 days a week, lost their job Friday and can't pay me until they get another job. Sigh
We live less than 20 miles from the huge fires North of San Francisco - the fires have now been burning for a week and some are only at 15% contained. We have friends, friends's family, friends of friends, etc that have had to evacuate and many who have lost everything. For us, we're at the highest fire warning and have been told no outdoor equipment like lawnmowers or weedeaters because they might cause a spark. Our air here has officially been worse than Beijing China they reported and it's hazy and everything smells like smoke. So we've mentally been trying to think of what are the top priorites, if we have to evacuate, besides us and our furbabies, so yea anxiety attacks it seems like constantly.
There is a chance of rain for Thursday evening, and we all have our fingers and toes crossed for that, and my goals for the following week is just to get back to basis, start eating better and drinking more water. If the smoke clears like it has today, I can start walking again, which will also help with the stress. Then I want to research the needed volunteers and see what I can do to help.
@DragonFaerie
I'm so sorry to hear that things have been so stressful for you. Its no wonder that you are feeling so anxious and stressed after all that you are dealing with and going through.
While things like sleep have been hit or miss for you, Its good that you were able to manage a few good meals in there somewhere. Thats important to keep up your energy through all of this.....
I also hope that you are able to get your "paycheck" from your clients..While I'm sorry to hear that they lost their job, I know that can be another added stress for you as well when you have to worry or be concerned about money.
I'm sorry that your friends and family are having to go through so much as well... I do hope that there is help there for everyone who needs it or who will need it .
Please remember to take care of yourself as well as you are able....Take time to breathe and relax when you can to keep some of the stress at bay. And if you can't sleep, try to "nap" when you can to make up for the sleep you are losing out on. Its important. I really thank you and appreciate you checking in this week with us, and letting us know how things are going and how you are doing. Please hang in there the best that you can, and keep us informed and updated on how things are going for you and how you have been. I hope to hear from you on our next check-in and that things have gotten better for you . Take care!
@PoliteOcean, I
Hi all,
I have had chronic migraines for many years now and another is now getting me while I'm at work... does anyone else experience migraines and if so, any tips for making things more bearable while one is occurring?
thanks :)
@chrissyh
Hi Chrissy! I'm sorry to hear that you are experiencing migraines...I'm sure that can be tough on you physically and emotionally.
Have you tried any safe home rememdies Like warm or cold washclothes on the forehead or back of your neck? What about relaxing baths, or mediations, or a dark or dimly lit room where you can sit quietly?....... Over the counter remedies?
We do not like to give "medical advice" here as we don't fully know your situation, but I do hope that you are able to perhaps talk with your physician/ family doctor who may be able to better diagnose or treat your situation?! I do hope that you are able to get a handle on it or manage your situation better. Best of luck to you!
