Ready, Steady, Cook!
I was wondering how many of you know the tv program 'Ready, Steady, Cook!' ?
In a nutshell, a contestant brings along a bag of food under a set price of £10 or $10 and the professional Chef has to make a dish from them. There is a basic larder of ingredients that they can use too. Some really crazy ingredients are brought along.
So, I was wondering if we could try a game like this.
in my shopping bag I have the following, what would you make?
1 x red bell pepper
A small (deep cut) fillet of fresh salmon
2 large potatoes
A tin of anchovies
2 lemons

I am wondering what mix I could make with these, maybe a simple stir fry or perhaps stips of pepper fast fried with the lemons and some thyme and the anchovies then blitzed into a thick sauce then coat the salmon and allow to marinate, then thinly slice the potatoes and make crispy fries and then grill the salmon in the sauce andserve on the potatoes?

@MistyMagic OOH how fun! :)
Probably a stir fry with the fish!
@MistyMagic I know it too well
This is an awesome idea!
So I've never had anchovies before, but I'm imagining you could make gnocchi with salmon. Use the potatoes for the gnocchi. Toss the bell pepper in a food processor with some olive oil/cream and cashews (and an anchovie I guess?) and make a sauce. Sear the salmon with sliced lemon salt and spices.
Love this idea!
@pandaprincess9 your turn then, what's in your bag for us to cook with?

Let's say rice, tomato, onion, garlic, breadcrumbs and cheese 😊
@pandaprincess9
Oh if I could add in a zucchini I'd make a zucchini herb casserole, with a layer of extra cheese and toasty breadcrumbs on top! Hmm *checks pantry for ingredients* I may want to make that soon!
@EmotionsListener I looked at the link and it looks so tasty!
@pandaprincess9 that sounds like a arancini! rice balls deep fried!
all the perferct ingredients then perhaps a slow cooked tomato sauce with melted cheese on top!

@MistyMagic
Oh that sounds good too!
@MistyMagic Oooh I'm definitely going to try this!!
@MistyMagic
Eat the bell peppers raw. Cook the salmon until its burnt, and then grind it into powder. Put potatoes in the oven for 30 mins at 180, take em out. Sprinkle salmon powder on the potato. dONE.
@MistyMagic I never of the show but sounds great.
