Simple small hobbies wanted
I’m looking for some ideas for simple hobbies one can do basically anywhere, but are small enough to fit in my pocket or small drawer. I want something small and simple so that when bored stiff from having nothing else I can pull it out and tinker then quickly stash it away again. Any ideas?
@StrangeWolf Watercolour or drawing, you can find tiny notebooks and just one pen is enough. There are very small watercolor sets, and some brushes come with a built-in water reservoir, so it stays portable. Puzzle games like the Rubik’s cube are another idea (I’m sure there are other types too, I just don’t know them). Reading works too, especially if you use a digital reader, or borrow books.
Embroidery or cross-stitch can be done on a small scale, if you stick to one color, you just need a single thread spool and a needle. Puzzle books (like crosswords or sudoku) also come in small formats.
And if you have the means, digital drawing is great since you only need a tablet and no extra tools.
These things might not fit in a pocket, but they’re easy to keep in a drawer or small bag :)
@Mya000 So many different ideas thanks…. though watercolors might be lower on my list, I can’t paint a wall without almost painting everything else in the room ;p

Needlepoint or embroidery, I prefer needlepoint bc it’s quick, fun, can incorporate different types of threads, beads, etc., you can make a small 4x4 Christmas ornaments to key chains, pillow covers, belts, name tags, list if yours to make of it.

Sorry, forgot to include…with needlepoint you roll up the skrim, which is the canvas you sew on, and so that it doesn’t get ruined (with thread already on it).

Crochet small things like bookmarks, purse or maybe even a cardigan etc. Eventhough it does take a little time and patience to learn crochet, it is therapeutic and calming. I listen to podcasts while crocheting. It's the best thing ever
Other ideas are journalling, drawing, colouring, embroidery..
Try multiple hobbies and chose whatever speaks to you. All the best😉💕
@CaringFaith61 small little trinkets would be What I’d do… a full cardigan would be a bit big for stashing easy. Thanks for the suggestions.
I like making artist trading cards, they are small
You can do max or low effort.
Trade them with people around the world (there’s *** groups for it), keep them, hide them.
It’s a great way to be creative and feel connected with people

Sketching? Have pocket size plain note like a6 or a7? And a mechanical pencil. I have A5 but yea I don't think it would fit in my pocket. It reminds me of the kids show blues clues.

Origami!? Also weaving with a cardboard loom! All you need is long pieces of string and a cardboard loom. There's YouTube videos on how to make the loom and once you make the loom you could just start right away! It's really easy to get the hang of 🙂

I’d recommend writing whether it be books or music
I write music personally and it’s a great way to get emotions out and relax plus it’s fun and could challenge you to be creative :)
@WOLFFSBANE.I always seemed to fail writing classes in school, but maybe outside of the stuffy room might bring some inspiration. I’ve had lyrics/poems run through mind at times, might be a good chance to write some down. Thanks

Im doing some art work..colouring therapy and painting as well..Earlier I used to do diamond painting..it's small and compact and a great time consumer😄
