language learning hobby
hi everyone!
i'm wondering, are any of you learning a language as a hobby? which one? and why?
language learning is my hobby. i haven't been able to do it for some time because school and other things got in the way. i want to get back on this hobby though, because lately i haven't been doing anything i enjoy (except watching tv).
anyways, i'd love to see if anyone else has the same hobby! also, this is my first thread (sorry if this has already been done recently), hope it's okay!
:)
@faron
Yay for your first thread and it's great, no worries. ❤
Learning new languages sounds quite fun, I'd like to try also hehe, maybe French or Spanish.
Any languages you're considering to try soon? :D
@Sunisshiningandsoareyou yay thanks!
French and Spanish would be cool to know for sure! I’ve been working on Spanish for years, and I like a lot of French music so it would be so cool to understand it
I’m not sure what to pick, but I’m thinking of doing a Spanish 3&4 class over the summer, and another language on my own time.. maybe Japanese? I tried before and stopped but I’d love to go back to it
thanks for responding :)
@faron
Hey, im learning Japanese because I want to go visit some day and I would love to just go there without the need to hire a translater. 😊
@faron
Korean because I love K-pop and K-dramas, as well as Korean culture in general. I'm planning on taking a trip there!
Me too! 💜✨ Not sure about the tripbut would love to visit there ☺️
I want to learn the same languages. I actually started learning French and i just remembered a few days ago and started up again. I’d been using duolingo and French pod.
I’d like to learn Spanish and Japanese too. I’d also like to learn tigrinya and amharic and geez. Not sure about Latin and Greek for the prefixes and root words and such.
i was using French music. I’m kinda in love with stromae :) i know he’s belgian but still haha. I was using the raccine carriere concert and the song santé to practice and watching french stuff on netflix.
@faron I am currently trying to learn more French as a hobby. I'm trying to learn French, as I feel that this will allow me to communicate with more people, given that they're are many millions, upon millions of people who speak French.
@faron
hii, i used to learn spanish and korean a few months ago but lost interest unfortunately. im planning on restarting next month though
@faron
I guess I wouldn't really call it a hobby, but I am learning German. I'm not sure why that language fascinates me. But I think that I'm part German do that might be why I started learning in the first place. I have a 256 day streak on Duolingo😁
