Everyday Like Living Hell

They tell you that *** is a place of fire and eternal punishment, a destination for the wicked in the afterlife. They are wrong. *** is not a location you arrive at; it is a state you inhabit. It is the slow, grinding torture of a Tuesday afternoon. It is the crushing weight of the ordinary, the unbearable monotony of a life that feels like a sentence.

Every day is the same. The alarm clock screams, and I open my eyes not to a new beginning, but to the same old ending. The heaviness is there before I am fully awake, a familiar anchor chained to my soul, pulling me back down into the bed. Getting up is the first battle, and most days, it feels like a war I have already lost.

The routine is a ghost of living. I go through the motions—shower, dress, eat—but it’s all performed by a puppet whose strings are held by some absent master. My body moves, but I am not in it. I am a spectator to my own life, watching from a great, numb distance as this hollow shell pretends to be a person.

I sit at my desk, or stand in a room, or walk down a street, and the world moves around me in a blur of color and noise. People talk, their words reaching my ears as meaningless sounds, like a radio playing in another room. I nod, I smile the thin, tight smile that has become my uniform. I say, "I'm fine," and the lie tastes like ash in my mouth.

Inside, the silence is deafening. It’s a vacuum that swallows joy, ambition, and connection. It convinces me that I am separate, an island in a sea of humanity that knows how to swim while I am forever drowning. The smallest tasks—answering an email, making a phone call, deciding what to eat—feel like insurmountable mountains. My mind is a fog, thick and impenetrable, and every thought is a struggle through quicksand.

There are moments of sharp, piercing clarity that are worse than the fog. A sudden, vivid awareness of the chasm between me and everyone else. I see people laughing, truly laughing, their eyes bright and present, and I am gripped by a loneliness so profound it is physically painful. It is a homesickness for a place I have never known, a longing for a self I can no longer remember.

The day drags on, each hour a lifetime. I count down the minutes until I can retreat, until I can grant this weary actor a respite from the stage. And when I finally return to the solitude of my room, there is no relief. The silence is waiting for me. The weight settles back onto my chest, heavier for having been carried all day.

This is my ***. Not fire and brimstone, but the cold, relentless erosion of the self. It is not dramatic; it is devastatingly mundane. It is the slow, certain knowledge that tomorrow will be exactly the same, and the day after, and the day after that, in an endless loop of suffering that no one else can see.

This is what it is to live every day like it's ***. And the most terrifying part? You get used to the temperature.

@themerlin

it feels like I'm in a never ending dream is what I can best describe it as. Its not a good dream.

that's the best I can put it bc I feel like I'm living my life from a third person view.

I wake up and I immediately want to go back to sleep bc at least when I'm sleeping everythings okay.

You want to scream when world demand from you smile you want to cry but have to put a mask on your face to show people you are doing good because that question is not something people ask because they really care how are you they just want to know you are going down as well
