change
as i’m sure you’re all aware, change can be extremely scary. it creates a feeling of uncertainty - especially for those who think in exclusively black and white due to BPD.
i, myself, have BPD and autism. change is one of the scariest things to me, i used to hide away from everyone because of my fear of change.
having completed the IDG course, i have realised that change can be a positive thing. positive change is real.
if anyone else is struggling with the concept of change, just know that it will be okay. if you need to talk to someone, i am here.
• what’s one way change has positively impacted your life?
• have you ever experienced a fear of change? how has this affected you?
the unknown can be very daunting, but it will all be okay. sometimes change is good, sometimes it’s not. but that’s okay. that’s normal. sometimes, change just might be the best thing that’s happened to you.
you are not alone. there is always someone who will listen to you. you are loved. you are important. you are valued.
take one day at a time, i’m proud of you. you are doing so well.

I definitely fear change in some parts of my life, but not others. Change has had so many positive effects on my life. I've lived in many different parts of the country, and each one of those moves/changes resulted in so many new experiences that I loved and grew from.
I think fear of change is mostly fear of the unknown. Change is great when you choose it or control it. But when it's unexpected or uncontrolled, it can definitely be scary! I've recently changed careers, and I am feeling very anxious about it. My industry is waning, and I need work. So I'm retraining. But is it going to work out? I definitely wouldn't be here if I had a choice. I have no control over it.
But, I think, going back to all the positive experiences that have come from change in my past, I've learned to embrace change, even when it's out of my control. I'm sure that many new opportunities will come from it - and honestly, discovering 7 cups was one of them!! 💓
@lobster777 For me, changing from being a teenager to an adult change my life for the better. it is something most of use have been through or that we will go through and it is a huge change. Becoming an adult has allowed me to do so many things and has given me so many opportunities. While it has been tough it has also been very rewarding.

I can completely relate to the fear that change brings, especially when you’re managing BPD and autism. It’s comforting to hear your journey and how you’ve found that change can actually be a positive force. I’ve been there too, hiding away from change, afraid of the unknown. But like you said, change isn’t always bad, and sometimes it leads to growth and new opportunities we never thought possible. The reassurance that we’re not alone in these experiences really helps. I’ve learned that taking things one day at a time, just like you mentioned, can make all the difference. Thank you for sharing your experience, it’s so inspiring. You’re doing great, and your words are a reminder that we’re all in this together.
