Ikigai...... Discovering Your Purpose
Ikigai is a Japanese concept that means “a reason for being.” It’s about finding what makes life worth living........ sweet spot where your passions, skills, what the world needs, and what you can be paid for all meet. It’s not about chasing after someone else’s idea of success; it’s about discovering what truly drives you. 😊
For years, I didn’t know what my ikigai was. I did things because I “should” or because it was expected of me, but I didn’t always feel connected to what I was doing. I was just getting through the day...... But the more I thought about it, the more I realized that ikigai isn’t a single, grand discovery. It’s about finding small moments of meaning and purpose every day. 😊
Ikigai isn’t just about your job........ it could be something simple like spending time with family, helping others, or pursuing a passion you love. It’s the things that give you energy and make you feel like you’re making a positive impact. 😊
Life becomes richer when we live with intention. When you find what you love and what aligns with your values, everything else falls into place. 🌸
📝 What’s something you do that makes you feel fulfilled or gives you purpose, even if it’s just a small part of your day?

I really love the concept of ikigai. Not just because it reminds me of how interesting language can be, and how there are concepts present in some languages, but not others (I digress). It's such a beautiful summary of of the "purpose" of life.
I sometimes work with college students, and when I get a chance to pass on knowledge about my craft, it gives me such a sense of purpose. I love the feeling of helping someone along their journey 💕

Ikigai is magical! One thing that gives me a sense of fulfillment is taking a few moments each day to reflect and practice gratitude. Even if it’s just for five minutes, it helps me appreciate the little things and reminds me of what truly matters, giving me a sense of purpose throughout my day💫

I really like what you said in your post "ikigai isn’t a single, grand discovery. It’s about finding small moments of meaning and purpose every day." I didn't have accessibility to volunteering until recently. It really gives me fulfilment I never had before. Even the training I have for a certain position is as fulfiling. I think making the slightest difference in someone's life can make their day and it is really satisfying to see. I try my best to do it everyday I can.
