Flipping Negative Thoughts
Hey everyone,
I tried flipping a negative thought: “I’m not good enough to handle this” into three positives:
I am capable of learning.
I have handled challenges before.
I can take things step by step.
Pairing this with my goal to speak up more in groups has made me more motivated and patient with myself.
How do you stay positive or hopeful when things feel overwhelming?

We were actually just discussing this flipping method in our Huddle today.
You may consider joining it if you're looking to get a handle on some goals and interact in a productive group <3
Here's the post.
I find dealing with my emotions and letting them out helps. Just saying I'm having difficulty and not pretending everything is fine and dandy is a good step for me.
Then I make a list of what's pressing or what is the most difficult thing and I keep breaking it down into manageable steps.
And in between that I try to encourage myself with words like Well done you aced that and/or I might do something fun like play a game, watch half an episode and then I feel more capable.
I might also ask someone advice on what helped them complete it and afterwards when it's all done, I say remember this feeling, this accomplishment because it's freeing, I feel lighter and proud of myself :)

This is so lovely and uplifting 😊
@AmySky24 i do gratitude journaling, and that helps too just something more specific then what you practice.
btw what you do is also good
keep going with that

When things feel overwhelming, I take a pause and acknowledge my emotions. I try to understand and accept them as they are, which helps me reflect, work through them, and find balanced solutions.

I try to find the silver lining in whatever gets overwhelming. Even though it is very difficult to change a negative into a positive, i still try to make a difference, a impact. 🌟
