Reflection and Character Strengths

I have been reflecting on my top character strengths which are : Empathy, Perseverance, and Self-awareness and how they show up in my life. Reflecting on these strengths helps me understand how I approach challenges and make decisions.

For example, self-awareness helps me notice when I’m stressed, perseverance keeps me moving forward when things get tough, and empathy helps me consider how my actions affect others and connect with people in meaningful ways.

How do you use reflection to better understand your own strengths, especially empathy, and how they guide your choices in life?

Self reflection allows me to take the time to walk in someone else's shoes.

See it from their point of view.

We often feel, I wouldn't do that, I wouldn't have made that choice but fundamentally many people find themselves in situations where there is no choice.

And ultimately when we reflect on our words and actions, it allows us to strive to be better 💚

Self-reflection is for me my most useful companion in my growth path. It has allowed me to get to know myself, to set my boundaries, to be the way I truly want to show up and to be more aware of my intentions.

I love how you’ve connected your strengths to real-life actions! I try to use reflection by thinking about moments when I’ve felt deeply connected to someone or faced a challenge, this helps me see how empathy shapes my responses!

Hi, thank you for sharing this! I really like how you’ve reflected on your strengths and how they show up in your daily life. I can relate, especially to empathy and self-awareness, as they help me understand both my own emotions and how others might be feeling. I’ve found that reflecting on these helps me make more thoughtful decisions and approach situations with more understanding. How did you first become aware of these strengths in yourself?
