Yes hydrocortisone can cure inflammation, and it is a corticosteroids and I try not to consume it if I can because my dad has glaucoma which may be caused by corticosteroids (he used asthma spray). So, I'm being cautious since there is a glaucoma in my family health history.
When my blisters caused swelling of my left palm and fingers, I took methylprednisolone which is a corticosteroid, but I took only once a day and just for 3 days. It actually also helps with allergy.
I kinda regularly take cetirizine which is an allergy medicine 💊 that's not corticosteroids. But sometimes the itchiness persist.
I use a corticosteroid based itchy cream though, but since I'm not consuming it, I thought it is safer. The dermatologist said, it is okay because I'm applying it to my fingers, and not near eyes area.

@VictoriaLove7 I never knew that about corticosteroids! It's definitely something to be careful taking if it can contribute badly to your health later on. I'm glad that there's something you can take that helps. It's sad that it doesn't help you more though. The itchiness must be so frustrating at time. I'm glad you have a dermatologist that's helping you take care of it too 😊
