Maybe it's just best to forget it

I keep going back and forth in my mind whether or not to try to reconnect with people. Like, having a friend group just sounds so nice. Creating meaningful memories and all of that. And being surrounded by positive influences. But then I remember that the cons outweigh the pros. People are busy. People are flaky. People have their own lives now. I'm too boring and serious. Also, I've toughened up a lot over time, and I think I would just end up being an asshole to people. More than I ever have been. And deeper than that, if someone says something that makes me feel bad then it leaves a mark on me that I can't erase. Also I can't forget the fact that my great ideas always fail in the most embarrassing ways.... Even though I'm still left with curiosity, nostalgia, and a desire for something more to my life...I just don't see this as a good idea unfortunately. Bleh.

@Phthalo

Nah. youre not alone, I feel the same way when it comes to hanging with people or even talking to them. It is like the fork in the road. Not sure what is going to be there when you do or what you will miss if you dont take one road. Socializing can be so hard so i feel you. I hope you figure out what you need.
