Meltdown
Never get into buisness with your romantic partner. I knew it was a bad idea.... yet I did it anyway. It sounded SO great when thinking it over - he knows the in and out of how I wanted my company ran, he knew my expectations, he was able to fill in to my level when I was unavilable.... well... not anymore. He found an old picture of me and old flame and is convinced I cheated on him...I did not. He talked it so much into himself that he believes it is real... my hair is the same color as in the picture but that is the only similarity. He told me to call the guy - I did. No anwser. I didnt even have his number anymore but ofcourse he did. He loves to "dig" and find things online... red flag... so he called the guy while I was at my side job and he anwsered... apparently the guy confirmed we had a thing- which we did. Not denying that... but he didn't mention WHEN aka about 4 years ago. So now my current guy is literally off his rocker, he is not treating me in a healthy way at all... I need to cut all ties with him becuase I need to be treated with respect and he is not giving me that courtesy. I own my own insurance buisness and he is on everything as a co-owner. He got licensed after me and joined me afterwards but I wanted us to be equal. I am now having to reach up to my uplines and ask how to legally get him out of my buisness. Sorry if this did not make much sense- I kinda needed to just get it out there somehow.
Thank you for sharing! Your partner does sound a bit insecure and controlling and I’m glad you realize you need to cut ties with him! I hope you are able to separate yourself from him in your business as smoothly as possible.
Sometimes the best way to get away from someone is to make sure they understand you don't want to be a part of their life anymore. It comes off harsh, rude maybe. However, knowing something rather than having it implied or thought confirms that new steps need to be taken. Legal action might be a must here, but letting him know what your intentions are could make things easier. I really hope you both can move on separately and that your company succeeds!
@turquoiseWest4097- your situation sounds so complicated. Too bad your previous partner didnt simply give the timeline on your relationship.
