Not sure why I am creating this thread exactly, and I'm doing this so late at night as well :') I just felt... like I should do this haha. I do have a one line a day thread although I... don't think I have felt so free over there to write as much as I wished. So I thought maybe... I should just make another thread, a diary perhaps.. where I can really be myself.. and maybe post pictures and quotes, literary quotes maybe... and poems.. specifically haiku hehe. Also vents.. thoughts and maybe letters :')

yeah… why tho? i'm sorry my parents have been panicking about various things, but not specifically about things happening in my country…? And I rarely read the news lol. 🤪
That's probably a good idea these days. I don't pay close attention to the news most of the time, either... Why get upset about things we have no control over? 🤷🏼♂️
@slowdecline48 🤷🏻♀️ well, the thing is, humans have too much curiosity. Then they go read the news. Then they panic. xD I sometimes think asking "why" is a useless question, because well… human nature.
Here's a rule of thumb I usually go by:
There is no reason to keep up with the news unless it is about something you have a connection to.
For example, I don't keep up on the Russo-Ukraine War. I feel sorry for the Ukrainians & yes, Putin is completely wrong in his actions...but. I am not Ukrainian (nor full-blooded Russian); I have no special connection to either country. In fact, given the antisemitism in both nations' histories I can't say I'm all that sympathetic to either people in more than a general sense. I see no reason why we should spend American money to prop up the Ukrainian military effort...Taiwan is way more important to us for economic reasons. To sum up, I don't tune into that whole conflict because it is not important to me.
You could go by the above rule, too. You don't need to keep tabs on the Israel-Hamas conflict unless religious &/or ethnic ties make it important to you. Which side you may have ties to is beside the point here; the point is you don't need to worry about it unless you have a real reason to. I keep up with US stock market/financial news because I have investments, so I have an interest in how the markets & economy are doing, see? If I didn't own any financial assets, I wouldn't bother with any of that.
