my journal: various subjects, opinionating, CW at times
The title explains itself.
If you're interested in the ramblings of a middle-aged man with chronic conditions who, at times, sees things a little too clearly for his own good, then read on.
Sometimes I get political, but it won't be all the time.
I don't mind comments in general but if you're going to differ with what I write, that's fine--as long as you can explain your position clearly & reasonably. Rants, shouting & general incoherence will be ignored or flagged, depending on the situation. Try to remember that not everyone else in this world holds your beliefs.
Every so often I may post art or snapshots of projects I'm working on.
If you're still interested after reading all the above, great. (I do wonder at how much time you have on your hands, though)
Every so often I actually get to sleep early, then wake up in the middle of the night. I cannot get eight to nine hours in one shot like normal people can.
Occasionally when I wake up, I think about the world & everything in it...& still don't know why. Why the world is as it is, is an unanswerable question.
...Camus was right about that.

This is not helping.
@slowdecline48 Damn those chenopods! Allergies are freaking horrible this year!
@mytwistedsoul If I were God--which I will never be--chenopods would be among the species I would eliminate from nature, & fix things so that the ecosystem can get along without them. Ditto for ticks, mosquitoes & tapeworms. If nature must be glorious then that's wonderful...there is no need for it to be disgusting.
@slowdecline48 Yes! Ticks, mosquitos, tapeworms and those freaking gnats that hang at your face when it's 110 degrees and you're sweating like a catholic at a baptist revival. They got the whole freaking world and they're hanging out 2 inches from my nose. And poison ivy that needs to go far far away too
It got overcast & windy earlier... Didn't like how the sky looked, so I decided to return home early. It poured on the way back...now there's thunder but no more rain. Am parked on my land again.
Not much else to report at this time. Maybe I can get some sleep?...
I cannot get the Randy Savage's immortal line out of my mind...because it's glorious. And I'm not even a big Marvel fan! 😆
We've been getting rained on lately...Yesterday the sky drenched us for the entire late afternoon. Spattered consistently into the early evening. What with storm systems moving through & nearby, the (intermittent lack of) barometric pressure keeps giving me flareups. Today it isn't quite as hot as the summer has been so far. Because of that & my feeling dazed this morning, I'm not doing anything except lying down in my truck, sweating & waiting for the next rainfall... It's supposed to start around 5 p.m. & go for at least an hour, probably more...
...so I can wait.
I have water. Sunshades in the windows for privacy. And patience. I suppose it's a part of getting older: learning when & how to wait.
Edit: Had to drive into town, to get something to eat. I'd like to return home right now but my head hurts somethin' bad...so right now I'm in the back parking lot of the local Wawa with the driver's seat halfway down & the door open...waiting for the godforsaken pain to ebb.
Chronic illness sucks orangutan balls.
One of the reasons why growing old sucks monkey nuts:
- Medical appointments start to come more often, &
- every time you have one the news is depressing.
I'm seriously thinking about doing a drawing of Sydney Sweeney...

Day 2 of the goddam flareup... Not quite as bad as yesterday, but bad enough that I'm lying down in an air-conditioned place right now. It's too hot to do anything outside again...maybe later I'll organize the files on my portable HD, or something.
I still can't go to the Religion/Spirituality forum...too much Islam in there now. It is unwelcoming to people like me.
Every so often, I get tired of being alive.
...it's exhausting.
...also,
f**k pollen 🤬
(& dust)
@slowdecline48 Agreed! It's dry here. We need some rain but then that just makes a different mess and a different set of problems
A dream involving a woman I dated during my university days & was friends with for a good while afterwards... it started out with alligator-like creatures in some kind of maze, then I somehow ended up in her house...culminating in the two of us going on a road trip which turned into apocalyptic refugee horror, until we arrived at the home of a wizard who wouldn't show himself to us & communicated by animals carrying notes...
A strange dream indeed.
My mind is an odd place, sometimes.
