thread for shy people

Well the thread explains itself, I think this is a place shy men, women and teenagers can listen and perhaps help each other with giving tips and such. Although you can connect to a listener. I believe that we can talk and help through a group. Now to start: I am Daniel and I am 20 years, and a student in history. I Like Reading, playing games being with friends and so on. I have since high school been shy and it is better, I still feel that talking to new people end up in a short conversations and want to get better. I can say my life is well seeing a great girl, but still I want to break the barriers of shyness.

Hello, it's lovely to meet you Daniel.
I'm Tanny, andI'mfairly new to 7Cups, stillfinding my way around and all. I enjoy readingand writing (though I lack talent) and while I do find pleasure in conversation occasionally, I often end up feeling drained and tried, so I spend most of my days communicating via text, internet and the such.
Like you stated, my conversations with others alsosomehow manage to end themselves prematurely, and I still can't quite figure out why.

I really like the thread name :D hi Daniel and Tanny, I'm Kimee. U can consider me as a quiet person but only in big groups. In small groups of 2 - 4 people i can be not so quiet. I'm love studying but i totally hate school :p you have no idea how badly i wanna graduate quickly. This is my last year in high school so i just have to bear one more year of school....

Hello, I go by Dean but I also go by Deanna. Just wanted to say it's nice to meet you guys! And I am new to this app tho, and talking is sorta my thing. And I'm up for talking even if it's early. I hope we all get along. Oh and it's nice to meet you Daniel, Tanny, and Kimee!

Hi Deanna, nice username =) Minibunbun sounds cute. Must be nice for u that talking is your thing...usually my conversations just somehow end abruptly, and it makes me a very socially awkward person. Its only once in a blue moon that I can find someone whom I can talk to thatdoesn't feel awkward.

Nice to meet you all, I kinda didn't think many would write here. I must apologetikk because I am not good with names and that I May get pretty deep while writing about myself. I dissidenter parties bot because of the drink, but because I am so damn silent when you have to meet new people and the conversation ends fast really. I don't know what it is but my life feels miserable and sucks at times. I have friends I occastionally go out with but somehow I am afraid to take initiative. I have gone out with girl for over a month and afraid to take initiative. I spend most nights at the computer alone or diatracting myself with Reading. I like to write but suck at it but manage to write some poems. I am very aware that it is people who is more shy than me and in a worse state, but I read somewhere that life should be enjoyable which I don't find. First I thought it was because I didn't do much with my friends and started going out with them, same result, then I thought I needed a girlfriend but still I don't find life very enjoyable. I quess I am lonely, then I thought I needed to get fit and started training, but I don't know what it is. Whenever I alone I start thinking like this and have tried going and out and trying new stuff, but still. I can't put my finger on it.

I can understand how you feel, all of the people in my life are constantly telling me to do things;exercise, socialize, change my diet and sleeping pattern, amongmany others, socializing being the most prominent. I can't find it in myself to any of these things however, most often they don't interest me, or there are other reasons, and I'm stuck doing to the same things I always have.

I hate how society has normalized this idea of everyone has to be social and share their thoughts, feelings, wishes and problems with others. I don't understand it, and to me, being forced to share my opinions oneverything makes me uncomfortable, because quite often I just prefer to spectate.
I do enjoy socializing, don't get me wrong, but the constant, unspoken rules of socializing and society make it difficult for me to relate.

Maybe it's not the same where you all live, and maybe your reasons are completely different, but I'd love to hear them all the same.

I hope you all have a wonderful day.

Helle heyyoulooklovely and must say it is a relief that it is more people who feel like this. I was never the most popular døde on the school but not the least. I have cruised it and been in the middel, and like you I prefer to spectate. Well the ideal is to have great body. Be good at school make sure you are popular and have tons of friends. But I feel like it is enough sometime. I just want to crawl in a hole sometimes because I can't be constantly with friends and feel like a loser if I am not. Also my friends are never close and don't see them that often. So according to society I am wrong I quess and kinda accept that. And just feel lost, I have tried doing changes but the result is just bad. When it gets enough I put on my gym clothes and run some km, it works as a reset button.

Hello, natureblast :)

My life during school sounds very alike to yours, I had friends, yes, but only about two who I could really talk to, because I was -and still am- much too anxious to step into the spotlight and actively engage others.
Have you resorted to texting, e-mail and other things similar to talk to your friends more often? If not, it might be a good idea.

You don't need to be constantly hanging out with people or be really popular either, people who lives their lives like that are extroverts, they thrive in company and need it almost constantly.
We simple don't, and it certainly isn't a bad thing, mind you. We don't need the incessant chatter of others to feel alright, for introverts, a book can be just as good, if not better.

I actually happen to make plans with my friends about every second weekend in what I could almost call a fit of adrenaline. I get very excited to see my friends (because I rarley see them, and I know that doesn't make sense just yet), and makeplans I later realise I am not entirely comfortable with (ex. going to crowded places etc.). Then it all goes downhill as my anxiety kicks in and I cancel all future events.
I know it's terrible of me, and I really wish I could stop, I just don't know how to deal with it or my anxiety. I was forced to go to therapy when I was in highschool about my depression and anxiety, and I went, but only for three sessions before I couldn't take it anymore and lied to get out of all of the other sessions I was supposed to go to in the future (about 11 more). I don't know how to deal with talking about my emotions or my anxiety now and I have no idea what to do. I don't have any outlets at all.

Hello natureblast:

I feel like you, like I want to be friends but not too close and all the same wanting to have friends. I have about 3 friends who don't care I am shy. They are caring and loving. I do a lot of exercise to keep in shape and I listen to music and I like dancing. But I rarely go out to parties or dinners out of shyness and I can't decide what dress to put on or dress because I think people will judge me so I don't go and I have broken promises to go somewhere and I don't show up. I disappoint people.

Hello...?

I am shy. I feel afraid to talk to people. I don't know how to make a meaningful connection. I wish I would open my mouth and say something. People think I don't want friends because I am so quiet and isolated. But I really just wish someone would come over and be my friend.

I think I have been in your situation or something close. To be fair I was really shy and constantly worried about what others thought of me when I started on the university. What helped me to an extent is to talk to people in your class if you go school or at the work place. If you are braver than me, you can try to join activities you like. I was never so brave to do that because of the anxiety. I know it is hard but you can't always wait for people to engage you, you need to slep up and start talking about common interest with someone you find interesting. People are not so scary as you may think.

I'm like this;; people normally think I'm being rude by not talking. I have anxiety too which doesn't help.. I normally remain silent and assume everyone hates me until someone actually comes over and talks to me. That's not a healthy way to be I know. Forcing myself not to be like that, so what I have found helps if, you "act" confident. No matter how hard it is and how scary, it normally works. I've been practicing this for a while. It's not easy I know but, trying can't harm.
