The final few days of November are here and December is about to begin. The holidays can be difficult for members of the LGBTQ+ community, whether closeted or not, with families who are accepting or not, this time of year often brings topics like family to the forefront of our minds. So, as we enter into this last month of the year, take some time to check in.

What is one goal you had for November? Have you been able to achieve that goal?
Well my goal was to see my niece for the first time but then I got sick so... I did not achieve my goal.

I guess it was worst as I got sick but my work place has been getting more... drama and it stressing me out

I feel mixed feelings. Most of the time I'm excited to meet everyone but then it starts to feel like im not there with them.

Sounds like November was a challenging month, with some disappointments along the way. I hope that December will give you another opportunity to meet your niece with less germs in the way, along with things at work becoming more settled and manageable.
Sounds like you get excited by the idea of seeing everyone but struggle to stay present in the moment when you are together, do you have any ways you try to remain fully present and engaged to truly enjoy the time you have with others?

My goal for November was to get better at playing saxophone. I've kinda achieved that. Not as pronounced as I want. The worst part of November has been dealing with major feelings of grief and loss. I have been trying to journal out my feeling and it's been somewhat helping. Although, when I've caught myself going back to read what I've wrote, it's truly gut wrenching.

Learning to play an instrument can be a long process, when did you first start playing the saxophone?
Sorry to hear that November was so filled with grief and loss, but hope that you are able to process and find your way through the grief with time. Journaling can certainly be useful in helping to release our feelings but reflecting on what we have written can sometimes be difficult. I find looking back can at time magnify the feelings so I rarely save or re-read old journals myself.
Do you have any plans for how December may be a better month for you?

Yes I try not to re read. It's hard. I keep those logs to remind me to never let it happen again. I just need someone to love as intimately as I once had. This person knew everything about me and still loved me deeply. I miss that. The only other person that knew me that deeply and still loved me was my parents. They have both passed away so that source of unconditional love is not there. I just wish things were still how they were. My special person loved me unconditionally. That was taken from me. I'm going to stop typing now and gather myself for work. Time to put on the happy face and survive the day.
