LGBTQ+ Community Check-In: Week of Oct 16 - 22

Hello LGBTQ+/MOGII Support Community, another week is getting off to a start! This week we celebrate International Pronouns Day on Wednesday, followed by Spirit Day on Thursday. 

International Pronouns Day is a day to increase the awareness of and respect for personal pronouns. Using the correct pronouns for others can be a simple way to grant each other basic human dignity.

Spirit Day recognizes and promotes the fight against bullying of LGBTQ+ youth. Although GLAAD research shows LGBTQ acceptance at an all-time high, the voices of hate have also grown louder and bolder. On Spirit Day we are asked to “go purple”, speak up against hate and bullying, and show all LGBTQ+ youth our support.

So let’s start this week off by checking in!
