Navigating the feelings
Hi my name is joey...recently I was with a guy. We had been talking for some months but I finally met him in person....I immediately felt attracted to him. I was really nervous but he was cool abiut it. I think im having my first real crush. This is odd I think because im 20.
Im recovering from depression and he has his own mental stuff as well. Im very emotional and he knows this but hes very opposite and I think for both of us hes keeping his distance a bit.
I understand why and I think its for the best but when i think of him...my heart beats fast for hours. This feeling is so new its a bit scary actually. I want to impress him, hold his hand, kiss him...be there for him. I know this is just a first phase thing but I could have never imagined Id feel this way.
Has anyone felt similar and what did you do about it?

It's natural to have feelings for someone. There isn't a time limit on when we can love others. It just is.
It's great that you recognized your emotions. I hope as you spend more time on this site, you will find more and more people who have your specific circumstance.
I'm very proud of you either way. <3
@Ardvarkz2rainbows Hello Joey :) I'm glad you are so happy with him, I know you have struggled with some mental issues and he has too so it's good he's perhaps taking things slowly.
Having a crush is really exciting regardless of what age you have it (even for the first time at 20 like you are having, it's surely one amazing feeling 😊) I can tell the attraction is really there what you described perfectly sums up the beginning feelings of falling for someone. I can really understand how you're feeling, though I'm on the other end of it all, being a female who loves females.
Realising you're falling for someone is all and nothing at once, all you may want to do is cuddle and kiss them, to hug and hold them close. It's really a beautiful attraction and it's perfectly alright to feel that way. I hope you're well and happy with it all 💙
