Gender
Hi I was born a girl...but I am not so sure about it....I love being feminine...but the thought of me being woman is...just no.....I feel like I am still girl....but there is something else...and sometimes I hate my feminine body and my hair.....and just saying She/Her doesn't feel complete...I am very confused and scared
@Katyhav Hello Katy, thank you for reaching out and sharing your feelings and experience. You should know that everything you feel is valid. its ok to be uncomfortable, or scared, or confused. its even ok to sometimes like how you feel and sometimes hate it.
Finding a safe place to learn about gender identity and expression is a great option. And something i like to do is try on different outfits or styles at home or at stores to see what makes me feel better.
Dig into what makes you feel certain feelings by asking yourself "why?" until you have an answer, and don't be upset if you're unsuccessful at first or if it takes a long time to discover.
Every one's journey is unique, and YOU have the answer in your body/ mind already <3
There are feminine men, feminine nonbinary people, nonbinary women, etc. You can think of gender identity and gender expression as sliders. You could be genderfluid if your gendered feelings fluctuate over time. There are so many possibilities!
Trying out different pronouns in person or online, experimenting with different fem/androgynous/masc makeup styles, hairstyles, and chest binding if you want could help you clarify what your feelings are and how you want to present yourself. There are even great tutorials about how to safely bind with camisole or sports bras if you can't get a dedicated binder. If you do try binding, be safe about it!
It can take a good deal of experimentation to figure out what's best for you, but it's totally worth it!
