Transgender Day of Remembrance 2023

Today is a day to remember the history and suffering of the transgender community, often persecuted and hated for how they identify, treated as lesser and presumed to have ill intent, when ultimately they simply want the freedom to be who they are and express themselves in ways that do no harm to those around them. Many have been lost to severe violence, others lost to the despair socially sanctioned hatred has led them into. So if you identify as transgender, or have a transgender loved one, I hope you will take a moment today to reflect on those who have gone before, and to look for the hope to carry you through today and each day that follows. It can get better, there is support, and if you need it, please reach out. Do not let hate cost you your self.
