My partner isn’t the best at communicating

they’ve been so supportive through everything I’ve been through so I’ve been trying to be supportive back

they started school again and have a new job. I just feel like they’re to busy for me lately and they said they’ll see me then just not communicate they can’t

I just wish they’d communicate more so I wasn’t left wondering what they’re thinking

I know going back to school and getting a part job is a lot I guess I’m just wondering if I should just wait or bring up my needs too

I have a hard time bringing up I’m having a hard time too

Hey hey @Maeli1012 welcome to the community.

I am glad you took to the community forums to share about how you feel.

You really appreciate the support your partner has given you and you're trying to give back in return, which is incredible.

It must be difficult feeling like they are too busy for you, especially with their new responsibilities. It's understandable that you wish they would communicate more so you're not left wondering. Communication is also key to any sort of relationships, I feel.

It's okay to have your own needs and feelings, and it's important to communicate those to your partner. Too often we feel the other person should just magically get us, but that doesn't happen, for we aren't mind readers, and therefore open conversations are sooo needed.

Maybe you can find a time to have a conversation about how you've been feeling and see if you can work together to find a solution that works for both of you? Even just a conversation starter to bring up how you've been feeling neglected and would appreciate if they can spend some time with you to talk things through.

Sending good vibes to you. 🫶
