@wellypen23 yes, it's absolutely normal! So many queer people experienced having a crush on straight friends. There are no guarantees as to how it will go, but since he's straight, I think you shouldn't get your hopes up in terms of becoming a couple or anything like that. Best case scenario, he will acknowledge your feelings, understand, and remain your friend because he cares about you no matter what.

@wellypen23 you know him better than anyone, so probably you can imagine his reaction better than I could. In general, I think a good friend would not be bothered by it, and even if they don't return your feelings they will just say it's ok and you can still be friends. But everyone is different, so it's your decision. Getting it out of your chest and telling him could be a relief for you, if you think it won't become awkward afterwards. Or maybe it could just be a bit surprising / awkward at first if he doesn't feel the same way, but then he'll just process it and won't find it strange anymore.
Unfortunately there's no right or wrong answer to this!

Unfortunately, emotions like attraction and love can be irrational. Rarely are they ever logical. It can be an amazing feeling, even though the guilt may still be there because of this. But overall, what you're going through with this crush is completely normal! Everyone at some point (unless someone's on the aromantic spectrum) has most likely experienced a crush where they have felt similar attractions to a friend they feel they shouldn't have. It can be a tricky thing to navigate being queer and having a crush who's straight, and it can come with TONS of mixed feelings. It doesn't make them any less real for you, though.  I wish you only the best between you and your friend, whether that be something you two explore or just something that you two grow from. Regardless, good luck on your journey!
