Not so bad vent

Hi, so this is a vent, but it’s not like super serious, or something that negatively affects me greatly. So, my brother is homophobic. It’s really annoying and I don’t know, I just wanted to tell someone. I mean, he’s 10 going on 11, he barely knows the world, and maybe as he gets older, he’ll be more open to it. Anyway, just venting here, have a great day!

@AdaMae I'm sorry about this! Unfortunately, that type of mindset is very common among boys of his age. He's probably never even thought things through, he just accepts and repeats whatever prejudice he's heard around. Boys tend to cling to stuff like misogyny or homophobia to look "cooler" and "more masculine", as if hating on others made you more of a man. I hope he'll figure things out eventually. In the meantime, you can try to make him think about things better and help him consider a different perspective, but I understand it can be a frustrating work.
