Hi all, I’m Leo. I am a trans guy who will be starting my testosterone journey very soon. I feel an overwhelming amount of emotions because I find the more I get closer to becoming who I am the more I feel isolated and alone? My family haven’t been supportive and I don’t know any other trans people so, even though I’m not alone in going through this kind of journey i still feel alone.

@Wizardlizard94 Best of luck on your transitioning journey!

About your family, I'm sorry that you feel isolated, and that you feel like you aren't being supported enough. Want to chat more about it?

@Wizardlizard94 I'm sorry that you're feeling like this, I know that even if you have someone supporting you it still hurts that your family is not by your side. Even if doesn't always happen, not all hope is lost for your family to eventually come around. But whether that happens or not, what truly matters is that you'll be able to live your life and your identity freely at your own terms. Time will tell who are those that truly support you and deserve to be loved back.

As for connecting with other trans people, you might meet more if you try looking for LGBT circles and associations near you. It can be of great help to share experiences and tips with people who've been true the same journey. Best of luck in finding them!

I feel this in my soul! I was married when I came out. My wife said she was supportive but has since used my transition as a weapon to hurt me, more than once, and when I came out my grandma told me that my wife would leave me and I’d never find anyone else to love me, and that I was “choosing” a hard life. (She’s come around since then) It can feel so lonely, the journey of becoming who you’re meant to be, but it is so worth it in the end! I don’t currently have any trans community in my life either and would love to have some.
