i got called a homophobic slurr a few days ago at my school (the principles homophobic and last person to report something like this got detention) what do i do??

@asterrushwald29 I'm so sorry this happened to you, school should be a safe place but it often isn't. Safety comes first, so if you think reporting the person who called you that will get you in trouble, it's ok to look for other solutions. If you feel up to it, you can confront this person directly and call them out with other classmates who are supportive. In any case, make sure to have a support network of people around you that can make you feel not alone. Supportive friends, or even supportive teachers if you can identify them. If you feel distressed for it, feel free to vent with them, or even seek counselling if this is really affecting you a lot.
You're not alone, even if it might feel like you are. Hold on and don't let the homophobes get in your head, you're a much better person than them!
