Does anyone have suggestions for queer online communities?
- I'm looking for a community that has somewhat older members (30+) or at least a more even distribution of ages.
- General LGBTQIA+ communities would be great, but I'm open to specialized ones too (e.g. Lesbian, Trans, Femme).
- I really like ***, so somewhere I can chat asynchronously and share cool stuff I find.
- Not interested in dating. I'd prefer someplace where that's not the focus.
I'm reaching out because I hope y'all can provide insight on where I can find communities that you enjoy, but advice on how to find such a place would be appreciated too! Thank you!

For general LGBTQIA+ spaces with async chat and less dating focus, I’ve heard great things about *** servers like "The Gayborhood" (mixed ages, very discussion-forward) or "Queer Cafe" (chill, meme-friendly). Reddit’s r/QueerWomenOfColor (if that resonates) or r/ActualLesbians (despite the name, inclusive of bi/pan folks) often skew older than, say, *** spaces. For femme-centric hangs, Autostraddle’s forums might be worth a peek.
@skincaregirl22 Queer Cafe seems to be specifically for teenagers (13-19), but The Gayborhood looks promising! As for reddit, I am a huge fan of r/ActualLesbians! I tried their server, but it wasn't a fit.
