I'm a gay female and I'm extremely scared of coming out to my parents it's not that they wouldn't expect me it's just the it would make things weirder and then my mom would have to give me the "remember to hide this from your grandparents" talk because my grandparents are not expecting or gay people. I have a older sister who is gay and has a girlfriend and it's a big part of her life that she has to hide from my grandparents so what should I do?????

It's a difficult situation but it's important that you can live your life as you are, love who you love, and be happy, that's what matters most 🩷

Honestly, this sounds like a very difficult decision in the works here. A decision that your sister seems to already have made. You might want to get her advice on this situation since she, better than any person online, can understand where you're coming from.

You should always do what you need to do in order to prioritize your safety and well being. If you think that in any way, coming out to your grandparent may put your mental health at risk, or even your physical well being at risk, you should not do it.

You should also reach out to some online LGBTQA+ communities or help online as they may have more foresight on the situation.

I have had to make a similar decision myself once upon time. It was not an easy decision to make but I ended up coming out to my homophobic grandparents. I lost them, but I gained myself and a sense of peace I did not have before, but that was after a lot of pain and hardship. I do not recommend making this decision lightly or quickly.

Remember: Only you can decide what's more important. Only you can decide what's best for you.

Ask yourself: What do I want? What can I live with? And what decision will I regret the most if I make it right now? Am I in the right position to make this decision or can I wait to make it later?

There is no timeline for coming out. Prioritize your safety and well being.

Each case is different. your sister chose to hide, and you might too.   That is an understandable choice.

in the end you never gave them a chance to understand or grow to accept. Maybe they know anyway and feel left out of sister's life. Many people know even if some people try to hide something from them.  Imagine how you would feel being excluded or lied to.

I realize many people put off or do not want to come out to family. My son came out we all assumed his dad would not accept it but, in the end, he handled it better than other members we assumed were more accepting. I had a hard time for very different reasons that we sorted out.

People can evolve and will change when it is family it may just take time.
