soooo i recently came out to my parents as bisexual, and they have been supportive. however, i want to ask them for a bi flag to hang in my room. like the title says, im worried about asking. although my parents have been supportive of my identity, they (especially my dad) keep insisting that i am "too young" to identify with lgbtq, and that "i will know for sure when im an adult." also, i have a little brother who doesn't know what lgbtq is, and my parents are afraid of him knowing about my sexuality and identity. so, how do i ask for a flag? any advice would be appreciated :)

@camicardoza10 there's a few things you might point out: first, straight kids are never considered to be "too young" to know who they are, so why should you? Your orientation is not necessarily something inherently sexual, it's just the way you experience feelings towards different genders, no one is young enough to know this about themselves.
Then, even you eventually identify as something else, what would be the problem? You have a right to express who you are and what you feel right now, this is how you feel at the moment and a colorful flag will do no harm and can only bring you joy.
As for your brother, he will have to find out about queer people eventually. It's actually very easy to explain, it's a simple concept, the only reason why someone would hide it would be if they feel ashamed, but it's not. If they're fine with your brother knowing that boys have crushes on girls and viceversa, they should also be fine with telling him there are other possible combinations too. It's not necessarily a "sexual" talk if you explain it in terms of crushes and emotions.
Try to have an open and honest conversation with them bringing up these points and how you feel about it. If they're truly supportive, they'll eventually understand!
