Advise when she pushes you away
I was seeing a girl for about 5 months, first person I've ever met that was an empath like myself. We hit it off. She has a lot of trauma and her parents would not be accepting of her being with a woman. She isn't out of the closet. She completely cut me off and said some hurtful things, I knew that what we shared wasn't a lie so I kept pushing for the truth of why. She admitted that her parents would never accept ya and she couldn't live with that. That she would rather be half happy with them involved then fully happy without them. She said she was trying to push me away and make me hate her so I'd walk away. She has done this before in her previous relationships. I know that she wants to be with me but she won't let me in. She said she's in pain and she is sorry for putting her feelings before mine but it's what she has to do right now. I don't want to give up on her but how can I be there for her if she won't even talk to me? How can someone not be with someone they love because of their parents? I don't understand fully because all of my family is accepting of me. I don't know what to do and I'd really like someone to talk about it too before I drive myself insane
Hello @Foxyracerbecca
It sounds like your girlfriend is pushing you away since her parents won't accept you. I'm sorry you are going through this <3 It can be hard to not have your parent's acceptance, especially when it comes to something you can't control (like sexuality). Her pushing you away doesn't sound like something personal, but rather something she is doing to prevent her parents from being upset with her. I agree, it can be hurtful to be pushed away and I'm sorry that is what's happening <3 As for advice, advice is easy to give, but it can be wrong or harmful. You are the expert on you. The best thing we can do is help you figure out the path that makes the most sense to you. While we cannot chat one-on-one since I am a teen, there are many adult listeners who you could chat with :) I hope everything works out well <3
