Religion and lesbian relationships
I have been dating women for about 4 years now, I have not came out to my parents because they are 100 percent by the book Christians. I love them to death and I have a major fear of losing them if I told them because it has happened to other members of my family. Now I know I have a major attraction I females but I am also into males, the current female I am talking to is also very much in touch with her Christianity. She does feel like being gay is a sin which I do understand why some people feel that way, but she feels as if their is a man out there for her but just so happen we have ran into each other and I’m scared to set her back on how she feels, and I’m scared to set my self back because I’m confused my self on if it’s right or wrong. Maybe some insight will help clear some of these thoughts it would be much appreciated
All the advice that can really be given on this complex subject is that you have to do what YOU feel is right. What path do you think would leave you with the least regrets? Why? Depending on the person, people vary on how much they care about family versus how much they love someone, and the path splits and extends from there. To make a choice and unwind the threads, you have to know yourself first and choose what to do based on your instincts and what you think is right.
i understand your concerns as i am christian myself. the bible is nothing more but a guide book should you want to turn to advice. if you do not feel comfortable telling them as of right now, you do not have to and that’s completely okay. John 15:18 If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. sending you love.
Well something is not right if your girlfriend thinks some dude is out there for her while she's dating you. Being gay is not a sin believe me. When did you know that you were gay?

That sounds like a really tough situation and I can understand why. It is extremely hard difficult to deal with oth religion and being part of the lgbt+ community. Religion and the lgbt community are often seen as not interacting which makes it hard for those experiencing both. Just remember you are valid no matter what. I hope you find some clarity.
I’m a lesbian and I’m very in tune with my religion I’m catholic and I thought the same as you are, at the end of the day you are going to love who you love there are so many ups and downs when it comes to coming out but YOU need to be happy. And there are so many LGBTQ communities that are still religious. There are churches who are open to LGBTQ communities and maybe that’s something you can try together ?
Hey! First of all, all these feelings are 100% valid!! I relate to a lot of what you are saying. I grew up in a very strict Christian household as well and coming to terms with my sexuality (I identify as lesbian) was very hard. I thought being gay was a sin for a long time but the more I leaned into my faith the more I realized it's definitely not! I couldn't tell from your post if you are also religious/spiritual, but even if you're not I would definitely reccomend checking out this book:
God and the Gay Christian by Mathew Vines
He (a cis gender gay male) goes into depth deconstructing the religious belief that being gay is a sin. He's a Christian himself and loves his faith and his sexuality! It's a technical look at the biblical verses that "condem homosexuality" and shows how thousands of years of mistranslating and culture change contributed to the current climate of homophobia in the church. It helped me a ton understanding that who I am is not a sin, but a beautiful part of who God made me 😊
Also please know that you are loved and wonderful 🥰 if you ever want to talk more about this, please reach out! Im still not 100% comfortable with my identity as a queer Christian but its a journey I would love to share with others 😄
